Chapter 3: No Talent For Cultivation

“Report! Report! I have something urgent to report!” an old man screamed as he entered a huge hall where many elderly people were sitting cross legged and only one person was sitting on a throne.

“Elder Tu, what's all the commotion you're causing in the Elders Hall! Show some respect!” angrily said one of the elders sitting cross legged. The old man who'd rushed in while making noise didn't even bother with the elder shouting at him and faced the middle aged man sitting on the throne.

“Patriarch! I have something to report! Young Master Song Haoyu's Life Flame has rekindled! He's still alive!” said the old man.

“What?! Are you serious?! Take me there this instant! I want to see it with my own two eyes. Is my son really still alive?!” exclaimed the Patriarch.

“Song Haoyu greets master.”

Jace looked at the young man carefully. Haoyu had a head full of white hair, sharp eyebrows, thin red lips and an overall handsome appearance. He had a cold air around him like an aloof and nonchalant person.

“Get up. I never expected that you'd be a Chinese person. Just where am I exactly?” said Jace.

“Chinese?...If Master wants to know where you are and how this world works, I'll be happy to explain. This world is called the Laven World and is...” Haoyu started to explain everything about the Laven World.

It turned out that this world was similar or exactly the same as the worlds explained in xianxia and wuxia novels. Yes, this was a Cultivation World where people cultivated Immortality or Longevity.

A world where demons, ghosts, ghouls, Cultivators, dragons and phoenixes and all types of strange things existed. And Haoyu was a cultivator.

Cultivation in this world was separated into seven realms from the weakest to the strongest, the strongest who are said to have enough power to move mountains and split the seas, pluck the stars and destroy the world. The cultivation realms went as followes;

Body Refining, Meridians Strengthening, Qi Condensing, Core Forming, Nascent Soul, Celestial and finally Saint Realms.

Haoyu was currently an ordinary person without any cultivation but he wasn't too worried about his strength.

“Master...”

“HA!”

Haoyu screamed, at the same time released an outburst of energy that froze everything it touched and that included Jace. Fortunately, Jace had his Peak Reversal Ability so the cold energy was solved before it could cause any serious damage to him.

Haoyu opened his eyes only to see that the cave had turned into an ice cellar and not just inside the cave but even outside. He heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that nothing had happened to Jace. Haoyu now had a snowflake symbol between his eyebrows and his demeanour was even colder like an emotionless being.

“How was your cultivation? Did you gain a lot?” asked Jace.

“I'm now at the peak stage of the Qi Condensing Realm and have successfully laid my foundation. The Frost Scripture is truly magical! To think I'd be this strong when I've only just laid my foundation.”

“Laid your foundation? How strong are you exactly?”

“The first three cultivation realms are considered laying the foundation since they are the foundation upon which cultivation is built. As for how strong I am, I think if I go all out, I can take on a peak Nascent Soul expert.”

“So powerful! Alright, let's get out of here. This place is boring.”

“Okay.”

Haoyu and Jace travelled the forest for an entire month until they finally reached the periphery of it. They both didn't look tired because Jace would use Peak Reversal on both of them. He found out while experimenting that he could use Peak Reversal to always be in peak condition so no matter how tired he was, one Peak Reversal could solve all his problems.

He tried using it on Haoyu and it actually worked. Both of them were pleasantly surprised by this discovery. And this experiment led to his next discovery, the system notification he'd received when using Peak Reversal for the first time on Haoyu was because previously, Haoyu had an extremely high cultivation base so he couldn't return him to that peak strength, which was why he received the notification that he was weak.

“Finally we're out of that hell hole. I thought we'd be stuck there for months!” said Jace.

“Hey Jace, I think I see a human settlement a hundred kilometres away. Should we head there or what?”

“Holy Shit! What fucking kind of eyes do you have to see something a hundred kilometres away?! And what do you mean should we head there, of course we're going there! Where else should we fucking go! Quickly give me a piggyback ride so we can get there faster. With me around, forget about resting!”
