Chapter 5: Future Electronics

About ten minutes after Jace and Haoyu left the coffee shop, two men in black suits came to the coffee shop to investigate. They took samples of the ice shield, took the CCTV footage in the surrounding areas and quickly left. Many customers who hadn't left the coffee shop watched the whole spectacle and even posted it on social media platforms. When some of the customers tried to interact with the two men in black, they were ignored as if they didn't exist. After they were done, the two men left.

Meanwhile, Jace and Haoyu ventured deeper into the city, sometimes asking for directions until they reached their location, the library. They came here because a lot of things didn't make sense to Haoyu and what better place than the library to find old information.

Unfortunately, the library didn't have any of the information that they needed. They only obtained the current geography of the Laven World which was completely different from what Haoyu remembered. Instead of one continent, now, a total of five continents existed in the Laven World.

The five continents were named after the five elements so there was the Wind Continent, Earth Continent, Fire Continent, Ice Continent and Wood Continent and they were currently in the Wood Continent.

Nothing was said about cultivators, instead, history books spoke about the landing of alien spaceships and the great war that took place. After many years of fighting, the aliens were finally forced back to wherever they came from. And after the alien invasion, humanity invested almost everything in technological improvements, innovations and advancements. As for how the aliens were driven away, it was not recorded which led Haoyu and Jace to conclude that maybe the cultivators were also involved.

The duo then left the library and went to a nearby electronics shop. Immediately when they entered the shop, a hologram appeared in front of them and introduced itself and the shop.

“Future Electronics? Never heard of it.” Haoyu thought out loud.

answered Lucy the hologram.

The two were shocked by this information. They now knew that not just one tech company existed but many existed. If Lucy hadn't mentioned the world's name then Jace would have doubted that he was actually in a cultivation world.

“Thank you for that information Lucy but we're not here for that today. We actually came here to buy the best phones this shop has so please take us there.” said Jace.

Lucy led them all the way to the counter which was at the back and some teenage guy was sleeping behind the counter. He was wearing a blue short sleeve shirt with the name of this shop on it and also a blue cap.

“Bro, I'm being serious, they're not for sale.” answered Brady.

“Five million,”

“Bro!”

“Fifteen million,”

“Deal.”

“Give him gold bars.” whispered Jace to Haoyu and Haoyu just waved his hand and a hundred gold bars appeared on the floor.

“Holy Shit! How did you do that?!” exclaimed Brady with even more excitement.

“My buddy here has a storage ring.” said Jace while pointing at the black ring Haoyu was wearing.

“Now guys, let's not be hasty. Instead of money, give me a storage ring instead. I'll only trade if you give me a storage ring.” said Brady with burning eyes. Jace looked at Haoyu and Haoyu took out a storage ring.

“This one is suited for a mortal like you, it has a thousand cubic metres of space and you only need to drip blood on it and it will be yours. Just look at whatever you take in and think of what you want to take out.”

Brady snatched the storage ring from Haoyu's hand, bit his tongue and dripped blood on the storage ring and the ring absorbed it. Brady then felt like he had a connection with the ring and could command it with his mind.

The duo left satisfied and Brady watched them leave also with a satisfied expression. He'd never thought that he'd obtain something he'd read about in folklore, myths and legends.

Jace chose a relatively safe place and used his Ability on the two contact lenses. Nothing seemed to happen on the two contact lenses so the two just wore them and immediately after, their world view seemed to change.
