“Edit monsters?”
Lu Yu stared at the five “materials” in front of him and asked in confusion:
“Do I choose a few to combine and edit them?”
System: [Yes, you can select several or combine them entirely. Editing is not just mixing them together but creating based on your imagination. Its potential is limitless!]
As the system’s prompt echoed, five material names and descriptions appeared before Lu Yu’s eyes.
The blood-stained yellow cloth was called the Unknown Burial Shroud. It came from the corpse of an unidentified being, tainted with its blood, gaining a sinister aura and eerie power. Touching it could drain one’s life force, resulting in death. It was rated as a three-star material.
All materials in the system were graded from one to ten stars. The higher the star rating, the stronger the material’s power, potential, or origin.
Materials could be obtained through system reward chests or extracted directly from objects! For instance, humans could be sources of materials like souls and flesh, though extraction might fail.
The blue light orb was a Pure Soul, a legendary treasure weighing only 21 grams. According to Western beliefs, a person’s soul ascends to heaven upon death for eternal bliss.
However, in Eastern traditions, souls must pass through six cycles of reincarnation, crossing the River of Forgetfulness, the Bridge of Helplessness, and drinking Meng Po’s Soup to start a new life.
Regardless of belief, souls were inherently mysterious.
The Broken Blade Fragment was battle residue from a weapon, rated one star, with little value.
The Hellfire was an evil flame from the underworld, imbued with corrosive, malevolent properties capable of inflicting deadly harm on all living beings. Its rating was two and a half stars.
With a single thought, the five materials floated before him, emitting faint glows. The higher the star rating, the brighter the glow.
Editing a monster was more than haphazardly combining items into a chaotic mess.
Though possible, the system’s prompt indicated that the more perfectly edited the monster, the stronger its abilities and the greater its growth potential!
In other words, as its creator, Lu Yu needed to edit the monster with intent and precision.

With those decisions made, Lu Yu turned to the Pure Soul, Hellfire, and the Unknown Burial Shroud, already formulating an idea.
He recalled a monster from a story he’d read in his previous life!
“Hand of Chaos, stir the threads of destiny!”
Like the soft whisper of a god, the entire gray space began to spin. Lawful threads intertwined in Lu Yu’s palms as he grasped the three materials!
