Building A Business Empire From Scratch In Another World

Chapter 161 : Survived

Chapter 161 : Survived

When Thorne finally came back to his senses, he found himself in an unfamiliar location.

Confusion washed over his pale face as he scanned his surroundings.

Panic surged within him when he quickly glanced back, but relief flooded through him as he realized the fearsome Four-Winged Lion was no longer pursuing him.

Without wasting a moment, he hopped off his bicycle, stowed it away in his storage ring, and set off in a determined direction.

Time was of the essence; he was gravely injured, and lingering here could mean death at any moment.

Magical beasts still roamed the area, and there might be Mana Cultivators nearby who would not hesitate to finish him off.

Two hours later, Thorne emerged from the Twilight Mountain Range.

He looked around frantically until his eyes landed on his horse, still there! A sigh of relief escaped his lips as he mounted it with urgency.

With a swift kick, the horse transformed into a streak of light, racing away from the entrance of the Twilight Mountain Range within minutes.

As Thorne lay on the horse's back, its hooves pounding against the road beneath them, exhaustion weighed heavily upon him.

His pallor persisted; each breath came in quick gasps.

Trembling slightly, he fished out a pill bottle and poured several healing pills into his mouth, chewing them desperately.

Gradually, some color returned to his cheeks, but pain wracked through his body like lightning strikes.

Dizziness enveloped him as everything blurred around him; soon enough, darkness claimed him.

----------------------------

On a desolate road nearby, a group of adventurers clad in armor were making their way towards the Twilight Mountain Range at a brisk pace.

"Boss! Look!" exclaimed a female adventurer with tight armor and a long bow slung across her back as she pointed ahead. "There's someone unconscious on that horse!"

The bald man she addressed as boss is none other than Thrail.

Thraill narrowed his eyes at the sight before them.

His expression shifted dramatically as realization dawned upon him; without hesitation, he leaped off his horse and sprinted toward Thorne's steed to bring it to an abrupt stop.

Surprise flickered across Thorne's features as he recognized them. "Thraill! Soni!" he called out.

"Thorne! You're awake!" Thraill exclaimed, excitement lighting up his eyes at the sight of his friend sitting up in bed.

"Oh dear! You're finally awake!" Soni cried out joyfully before rushing over to hug him tightly, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Hisss!" A sharp gasp escaped Thorne's lips at her sudden embrace; pain shot through him like lightning.

"Sorry! Sorry!" Soni quickly released him upon noticing his discomfort.

"Hey buddy," Thraill said with a solemn expression, "thank goodness you're awake! You have no idea how worried we were."

"Yeah dear," Soni added softly through her tears. "What happened to you? How did you get so injured? Didn't you say you were going to complete a mission?"

"Yeah buddy," Thraill echoed eagerly. "What exactly went down out there?"

Thorne looked at the two of them and sigh, " It's a long story ".

---------------------------

"What?! A Four-Winged Lion did this to you?" Thraill exclaimed, his eyes wide with disbelief as he stared at Thorne in shock.

"Yeah, and it's no ordinary Four-Winged Lion," Thorne replied, nodding gravely as he leaned against the bed for support. "I almost died back there," he added, fear flickering in his eyes.

"Buddy, you're lucky to be alive!" Thraill took a deep breath, trying to process the gravity of the situation.

"But seriously, what are two Tier 4 Magical Beasts doing in the outer region? Aren't they supposed to be in the Inner Region?"

"That's what confuses me even more," Thorne said. "But I think it might have something to do with the Mythrill Apple Trees."

"You could be onto something there," Thraill agreed. "But really, you should think twice before accepting another mission like that!"

"I know; I've learned my lesson," Thorne nodded solemnly.

"I told you that being an adventurer is dangerous! But you didn't listen. Just think about it, if you had died, what would have happened to me and the kids?" Soni chimed in from the side, her eyes glistening with unshed tears as she looked at Thorne.

"I'm so sorry, dear. I promise it won't happen again." He took Soni's hands gently, guilt etched across his face.

"Oh yeah! How did you manage to escape from that Four-Winged Lion?" Thraill asked curiously, leaning forward with intrigue.
