Whether it was a trick of the light or not, everyone present who was still watching Bai Luo felt a change in his aura.
If before he was agile and elusive, now he resembled a sheathed blade ready to be drawn.
Moreover, he now seemed more akin to an Inazuma native.
"Do you dare to take one strike from me?"
The hand gripping the broken blade trembled, just like the young man who had once stood in this very spot, attempting to withstand the Musou no Hitotachi.
But Bai Luo's trembling hand was not due to fear.
He was suppressing a powerful force.
The energy that had coursed through his body for the entire thirty seconds after unlocking the Battousai Class was now almost uncontrollable.
If he didn’t release this energy soon, he felt he might explode.
"I’ll give you a chance to draw your blade."
Raiden Shogun lowered her already raised sword slowly.
She did not adopt a defensive stance.
To her, no human blade could harm her.
Furthermore, all of Inazuma’s sword techniques originated from her.
Her own swordsmanship did not require her to defend against it.
"Thank you."
Bai Luo’s left hand holding the sword slowly moved behind his back, while his right hand rose to the front.
“Battoujutsu?”
Raiden Shogun immediately recognized the familiar technique, commonly seen in Inazuma.
But what followed puzzled her.
Bai Luo’s body lowered closer and closer to the ground, almost touching it.
In that instant, the last hint of sharpness in Bai Luo was condensed into the broken blade he held.
To everyone watching, he seemed like an ordinary young man.
Perhaps any rookie from the Tenryou Commission could beat him up.
But no one underestimated him.
One second was enough to do many things.
Aside from during the Archon War, it was the first time in a long while that she had encountered something like this.
Coupled with his mysterious energy that could render him invincible, could this guy be a remnant from that era?
Regardless of how stunned everyone was, Bai Luo, after releasing that surge of power, was back to normal.
He knew that by snatching the Vision, he had become a target.
Now, having wounded Raiden Shogun with his swordsmanship, the moment the people around him realized what happened, they wouldn’t let him go easily.
Clang—
The broken blade returned to its sheath with a grating sound.
Bai Luo’s speed, already fast, increased even more after sheathing the blade.
Clad in a red kimono, he became a red flash, dashing to Kamisato Ayato’s side.
Perhaps intentionally, the spot where Kamisato Ayato was facing off against Kaedehara Kazuha happened to be below a high wall.
After pushing his opponent back with one slash, Bai Luo grabbed the shocked Kazuha and, within a few steps, climbed the high wall of the training ground and jumped off the cliff on the other side.
These movements flowed seamlessly, even catching Raiden Shogun off guard.
She instinctively regarded Bai Luo as someone from her era, expecting him to strike again.
She was prepared for battle but he simply fled.
“Chase them!”
The soldiers in the training ground reacted, running to the cliff where Bai Luo and Kazuha had jumped.
But below the cliff, there was only fog and a few soaring eagles, with no sign of the two.
“Cough... Sorry, Shogun.”
Kamisato Ayato supported himself on the ground with his sword, Bansho Goetsu, and apologized with a wry smile.
Bai Luo’s strike hadn’t used much force, but Ayato, intending to let Kazuha go, hadn’t defended himself at all.
The strike landed solidly on his chest.
Had Bai Luo not held back, the world of Tevyat would have lost a playable character.
“You did well. Go back and heal. I will have the Tenryou Commission put those two on the Vision Hunt Decree. Next time... I will be the one to strike.”
Feeling the pain from her wounds, Raiden Shogun turned and walked into Tenshukaku.
How many years had it been... She hadn’t found herself in such a predicament in so long.
Fine. Next time, she wouldn’t let him escape so easily.
