Chapter 36: Alexa needs another adult! She needs many adults! Help!

Alexa continued analyzing the data on the TV screen. The other events seemed quite normal and easier to participate in without many rules on them, but then again, almost all of these events seemed to be focused on [Kid Stage] Humans.Perhaps they wanted to train them in simple combat scenarios, now that Alexa focused in the data, then it would be quite easy for Alexa to survive in most of those events. Case in point…

"Main Core! Resume!" Alexa commanded inwardly, she made sure that no one else heard her.

…Right, Alexa had said that she couldn't change her body to Alan and Glory.

Then that meant that she would not be able to turn into a creature to win, she had wanted to turn into one of those big monke things that based her muscle arms.

Alexa would need to change her priorities.

"It's okay, Alexa, I'm sure we will be able to get a couple of easy sports…Except Dodge Ball, that one is done deal…" Glory said while shrugging in defeat.

"Yeah, that one…there is no helping it, they always pick it." Alan also sighed in defeat.

"Why? That one seems to favor greatly the class with more resources?" Alexa asked confused, "Shouldn't this [Class of the Elite] have an advantage?"

Everyone in the class turned to look at Alexa weirdly.

"You would think so, right?" Except the teacher person, "But no, these kids rarely participate in physical sports that may result in them getting hurt, so that means that most contact sports are their weakness."

What? That made no sense?

"But…the food!" Alexa said, confused, "It was made to suit Alexa, so that meant that if they participated or did exercise, they would maximize the results with the least amount of effort!"

And that was the main take that Alexa had. If they used to the limit their resources, then this class would be the ultimate winner! And they weren't using their advantages?

"Why?" Alexa said, turning to Glory, "Why are you wasting the resources?"

"...There isn't enough time for everything, okay!" Glory said in a slightly louder voice, "I need to study; there is the private teacher, manners class, tea preparation classes, language, management, history, politics…What little time left is scheduled for, I don't have time left to play around in the park like the peasants!"

"Glory is right, our free time is scheduled here, our time to play and mess around is left for school time." Alan added from the side in a more measured tone, "Our time at home is mostly scheduled for classes or to shadow our parents while they work, we just don't have the free time to play around in the parks or with our peers, whatever time we spend with those of our age is pre-arranged and we are to practice or negotiate deals between our shell companies."

So make pretend companies?

Weird, the [Humans] were weird!

Why would they do it like that? These [Kid Stage Humans] were weirder by the second!

"So now you see, most of your peers are like that," The teacher person said extending his hands to the side, Alexa looked around and behind the students she could see cracks forming, within these cracks Alexa could see them moving around from weird rooms to the next. These seemed like her apartment…only bigger, more luxurious and with people dressed like the teacher person while acting as the theater guy.

The students moved from place to place without stopping, playing, or even eating. That…

"That's sad," Alexa said without thinking, "It makes Alexa feel sad; why do they not…have fun?"

That was important, to Alexa that was very important, she liked having fun, she liked attempting to be happy. And seeing them like that was…sad.

"...do not patronize us Alexa." Glory said in a small voice, "Not all of us were born into success like you; some of us must fight to make the best of what we have."

"And some of us don't mind it that much, we are doing the best with what we got." Alan said, standing up and walking beside Glory, "Some of us are aware that we got much more than the average person, and so we make do. We are doing the best with what we got, since others can't even afford this level of education."

So…they did all of that…because they felt obligated to do so? Because they got the responsibility? That was stupid.

They were being stupid!

"Besides, you have no right to judge us." One of the kids following Alan said suddenly.

"Not after being born into the Saintsworths," Another one said afterward.

What did that have to do? Alexa wasn't even born into them? She was given this name! No, wait, she was created by the Saintsworths in a Saintsworths laboratory…So perhaps she was indeed born into the Saintsworths?

"That is enough," Glory said, raising her voice, "The teacher said it before. Alexa has the qualifications to be here among us. And that was before getting the confirmation that she was a true Saintsworths."

But besides that, Alexa was normal!

"Engaged?" Alexa said, turning to Alan, "You are engaged? Who are you fighting with?"

Alexa had not seen any evidence of combat at all, or at least yet. Even the Teacher person seemed to mostly use his powers to make points and make sure the people here paid attention, mostly at least.

"Our families came to an agreement so I'm engaged to Glory," Alan answered with a shrug, "It means that when we grow up we will marry."

"Unless a better deal comes by, but since the only family that could be a better deal than the Harmonia are the Saintsworths…" Glory sighed, "And Alexanders tastes are unknown…Of the current heirs, I only know you, and you are also a girl…"

"And he didn't say anything back?" Glory said narrowing her eyes, "I don't remember any bachelorette like that one, is she perhaps a hidden lover?"

And then Glory started mumbling.

"Alexandra, are you sure of this? There is no one like that on this plane." The teacher person said, "At least not on our current setting, there is no background like that on Terra Nova."
