Chapter 34 New Summon: Borak!
Chapter 34 New Summon: Borak!
Energy swirled from the wild boar like a storm, a vortex of energy engulfing its dead body.
'The summoning isn't as intense as when I summoned Sunless,' He thought, giving Sunless a quick glance over his shoulder.
The portal that normally summoned his beasts opened below the wild boar's body and engulfed it.
The portal pulsed, and the swirling energy grew until, with a sudden eruption, a large, dense swirl of energy burst forward.
Arthur shielded his face with his arm, feeling the force of the release as the energy coalesced into a solid form.
"Welcome home," Arthur muttered with a small grin, as he watched the boar kneel to greet him.
[You have summoned a Tusked Wild Boar. He is now completely and utterly loyal to you, he will do as you instruct him without any fail. You have the right to name him.]
[Would you like to name the Tusked Wild Boar']
[Yes/No]
Arthur grinned, his finger moving to press 'Yes'. "Of course," he muttered, already deciding on a name. "I'll call you... Borak."
[Name Confirmed, the summoned 'Tusked Wild Boar' is now called 'Borak']
[Race:] Wild Boar

He added the last part with a wry grin. "Once you've got your little squad, start killing any monsters you see. But—and this is important—don't attack any players unless they attack you first. Got it?"
Borak let out a low grunt, which Arthur took as understanding. Even though Arthur knew that Borak will just do as he was told without asking any questions, he still decided to tell it the reason.
"Look, the penalty for attacking other players is still in place, okay? If you start swinging those tusks at someone unprovoked, it counts as me attacking them, and I am not dealing with that headache."
"But if a player attacks you first, the penalty doesn't apply because it'll be considered self-defence. See how that works?"
Borak let out another low grunt.
"Good," Arthur said, patting Borak's thick neck. "Now go out there and show this forest why you're the king of the boars. Adventure awaits, Borak!"
The massive boar gave one last snort before stomping off into the trees. Arthur watched it go, a smirk on his face.
Arthur moved stealthily through the dense forest, his steps careful. Every now and then, a beast would scuttle or charge toward him, only to meet its end under his dagger or Sunless's bony fingers.

[You have killed a Corroded Beetle]
He bent down to pick up the loot from the last kill, shaking his head as he glanced at his inventory.
"My rare backpack is getting full already," he muttered, tucking an uncommon sword into the backpack. "At least I'm picking up some uncommon items. They should still sell for some silvers, although I should probably decrease the price from 3 silver coins to 2 silver coins and 50 bronze coins."
As he stood, a distant scream ripped through the air, sharp and panicked.
"Arghhhh, help me!"
Arthur's head snapped in the direction of the sound. His brows furrowed as he scanned the forest, his hand instinctively gripping his dagger.
'Should I help?' he thought, his mind racing through the possibilities. 'It could be a trap... or it could be someone in actual danger.'
'Even if it was a trap... the game hasn't allowed players to engage in fights yet. So it doesn't make sense for it to be a trap...'
After a moment of hesitation, he clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Alright, let's go check it out," he muttered, darting off toward the source of the scream. The forest blurred around him as he sprinted, his footsteps silent in the thick underbrush.
"Let's hope I'm not running straight into trouble," Arthur muttered under his breath, his grip tightening on his weapon.
