Chapter 121 A New Summon (2)

[Would you like to rest?] [Yes | No]

The familiar prompt appeared before Arthur, glowing faintly in the air. He didn't hesitate, knowing the five-second timer was ticking. Another fight was coming, and he had no intention of wasting time.

Arthur willed his SSS-Rank Talent: Primordial Summoner into action.

Immediately, his consciousness was pulled into the void—a dark, endless expanse where all the monsters he had killed stood before him, frozen like statues.

His sharp gaze scanned the gathered forms, landing on the Lesser Demon he had just slain.

"There you are," Arthur muttered, willing the choice into action.

The void faded, and back in the arena, a swirling black portal opened beside him. From it emerged the Lesser Demon, stepping out with an air of deference. The once-defiant creature was now subdued, its fiery eyes glowing faintly with unwavering loyalty.

The demon knelt before Arthur, its head bowed like a knight awaiting orders.

[You have summoned the Lesser Demon. They are now completely and utterly loyal to you. They will do as you instruct them without fail. You have the right to name them.]

A new prompt appeared:

[Would you like to name the 'Lesser Demon'?] [Yes | No]

Arthur glanced at the demon, his expression thoughtful for a moment before shaking his head. "No."

The prompt vanished, and Arthur turned his attention back to the arena.

[Next enemy incoming. Prepare yourself.]Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Arthur straightened, his dagger ready at his side. The arena shimmered faintly, signalling the arrival of the next challenger.

The plates were intricately carved with glowing crimson runes, pulsating faintly as though alive.

Its skin, a deep, ashen gray, had a texture that resembled cracked stone, with faint lines of fiery orange glowing within the fissures. These lines pulsed rhythmically, like veins coursing with molten lava.

The demon's face was both fearsome and unsettlingly human-like, with angular features that spoke of intelligence and cruelty.

Two long, jagged horns jutted from its forehead, curving upward in sharp arcs. Unlike the Lesser Demon, these horns were symmetrical and polished, their black surfaces gleaming faintly.

Its eyes burned with an intense, searing red light, like smoldering embers, and seemed to pierce through everything they gazed upon.

A thick tail, heavily scaled and tipped with a spiked club, swayed behind it like a weapon in its own right. Its legs, slightly digitigrade, ended in sharp, clawed feet.

It tilted its head slightly, the mocking grin widening as it finally spoke, its deep, guttural voice carrying an air of superiority.

"Where am I?" it said, its gaze sweeping across the arena. The disdain in its tone was palpable, each word dripping with contempt. "Is this truly where I have been summoned? A pitiful arena and I'm faced with... this?"

Its glowing eyes locked onto Arthur, studying him as if he were an insect underfoot. A low, rumbling chuckle escaped its throat, vibrating through the arena like distant thunder.

"This is what that human sent to fight me? How pitiful. I expected more from a species that claims dominion over the land."

The demon's gaze shifted to the Lesser Demon at Arthur's side. Its sneer deepened as it snorted loudly, the sound filled with disgust. "And you," it growled, the words cutting like a blade. "A pathetic Lesser Demon? Bowing to a human? How far you've fallen. Hmph."

The Lesser Demon flinched slightly under the greater demon's scorn but remained upright, its loyalty to Arthur unshaken.

The demon let out another mocking laugh, shaking its head as if the sight of them was too absurd to comprehend.

"How amusing," it said, taking a slow step forward, its clawed feet cracking the stone beneath it. "But I suppose I shouldn't have expected much. After all, you're nothing more than scraps, a stray piece of refuse that somehow survived the purge. Weak, insignificant, and utterly worthless."

Its molten eyes narrowed, "Do you honestly think this pitiful collection of creatures can stand against me? Me, a true demon?" It laughed again, louder this time, the sound echoing like a cruel symphony.
