Chapter 686: Chapter 686 - A Blazing Behemoth
"SpeedGang! We don't have much time!" Pawpaw growled, glaring intensely at him.
SpeedGang glanced toward his domain wall, which was visibly trembling and steadily shrinking in size. His expression was tense.
Outside the domain, Demian stood with his usual calm demeanor, a faint smirk tugging at his lips as he observed the scene.
"So... this domain of yours, is it sustained by your stamina? Or does it drain your health as well?" Demian said.
"Shut up, you traitor!" SpeedGang barked.@@@@
"Tell me, SpeedGang," Pawpaw pressed, "is it true?"
"Shut up!" SpeedGang snapped, his frustration spilling over. He turned to point accusingly at Pawpaw. "This is all your fault! Your stupid actions have doomed us all! Now we're all going to die together!"
"And yet you'll die too," Pawpaw shot back. "But somehow, you can still manage to run your big mouth, huh?"
Without waiting for a response, dark shadow tendrils extended from Pawpaw toward SpeedGang. "I'll restore your health. Just keep the domain intact."
As soon as the tendrils connected to SpeedGang, the rate at which the domain was shrinking began to slow.
Demian let out a small, amused laugh as he watched the scene unfold.
SpeedGang's face contorted with frustration, his annoyance was clear. The fact that the secret of his domain's mechanics had been exposed-especially in front of countless cameras-was a bitter pill to swallow. He knew the world was watching, though thankfully, no sound from within the domain would leak to the outside in a situation like this.
"You're all wasting my time!" Demian suddenly snapped.
The barrage of magic missiles that had been hammering the domain abruptly ceased.
"This stupid traitor," Demian muttered, "seems to be tiring out as well."
"I think your way of thinking is far too shallow, SpeedGang!" Pawpaw snapped back. "He's got another plan."
"Ch! You're just a loud-mouthed spirit beast!" SpeedGang retorted.
Outside the domain, Demian stood still, but the shadowy energy emanating from his body began to intensify, flickering like dark flames. His veins and skin were becoming more pronounced, taking on a darker, almost corrupted hue.
Demian suddenly gripped his face, his muscles twitching as his teeth clenched tightly.
"Damn it!" he growled.
His head jerked upward, and now his eyes were fully black, the darkness spreading through the veins beneath his skin like ink in water.
Dropping to his knees, Demian slammed his fists against the ground.
From the ground beneath them, enormous skeletal hands formed from shadows erupted, gripping the charging players tightly, immobilizing them in an instant.
"Support, remove the debuffs!" one of them shouted.
"Long-range attackers, keep firing!" another yelled desperately.
But before anyone could act, the shadowy hands clenched tightly, crushing the players' bodies with terrifying force. One by one, their forms dissolved into pixels, their screams cut
short as they vanished into nothingness.
Demian, still writhing and screaming, paid no attention to their demise. His fists pounded the ground harder, the impact shaking the earth as the massive magic circle above began to glow
brighter.
After that, Demian struggled to his feet, his body still cloaked in writhing shadows. He began to move, staggering at first, but then suddenly bursting into rapid sprints, only to slow again before speeding off once more.
His erratic movements resembled neither teleportation nor normal running but something in between, making it impossible for any cameras to track him. Within moments, he was gone, his location completely unknown.
Meanwhile, the source of everyone's dread began to unfold above. The massive magic circle spun faster, and within its fiery patterns, a blazing glow started to emerge. The circle itself appeared to ignite, flames roaring as though it were burning from within.
The sky darkened, clouds swirling violently overhead as bolts of massive lightning streaked across the heavens.
And then, from the center of the magic circle, something began to push through. A massive object—blazing with fire-started to emerge, struggling to break free from the swirling
vortex.
Its size was monstrous, far larger than anything anyone had seen before. It glowed with an
intense heat, flames licking across its surface.
What was it? A blazing boulder? A firebound colossus?
Whatever it was, the object radiated pure destruction, its fiery brilliance illuminating the battlefield despite the darkened sky.
And there it was-the calamity that everyone had feared.
If that thing fell to the ground, it wouldn't just destroy the capital city. The devastation would
likely obliterate everything for miles, wiping out the kingdom and surrounding regions in a
fiery cataclysm.
"What the hell is that?!" Elincia whispered, her voice trembling with shock as she stared up at
the blazing behemoth.
