Chapter 772 - The Hunt for Ivana Begins
Chapter 772 - The Hunt for Ivana Begins
Leon stepped out of the capsule device to the thunderous cheers of the audience. He had won the match with a new record—just three seconds.
He sighed, thinking he could have ended it even faster. Still, at least he had kept his promise—he had only used a spear in the fight.
His opponent exited next, clearly frustrated. During the post-match interview, they complained that the spear Broken used shouldn't even be classified as a melee weapon. With skills that had such massive area coverage and devastating damage, it felt more like something a mage would wield.
Leon didn't bother responding. He simply gave a slight bow and thanked his opponent for the match. The crowd, of course, erupted in cheers.
They had enjoyed the battle—hadn't they?
Or... maybe not? Since the match had ended way too quickly? The thought made him chuckle.
In this Duel of Challenge, each contestant had to compete in four matches during the group stage, followed by two more in the final bracket. For today, Leon still had one more match, which meant waiting for about an hour.
So, to pass the time, he hung around, and chatted with his guildmates. Some of them watched other matches, while others just relaxed, ate, and talked.
And then—the next match arrived.
...Well, this one lasted a bit longer. Ten seconds.
His opponent was a mage, and a tricky one at that. Their defensive skills were annoying to break through, forcing Leon to combine both magic and physical attacks to finish them off.
Well, at least his job for the day was done.

Broken finally logged back into Immortal Legacy. As soon as he did, he found himself standing at the edge of a forest. To his left stretched a vast savannah, its golden grass swaying under the breeze. In the distance, several monsters roamed, their presence unmistakable—they were ready to attack anyone foolish enough to step into their territory.
He glanced at them briefly and sighed. The monsters here were all above level 220—higher than he had expected for this area. Not that he couldn't handle them, but fighting them wouldn't be worth his time.
First, he wouldn't gain any experience points from them. Second, it would be a waste of effort.@@@@
Sure, he could send Blaze and Polly to take them down, but that would still be pointless. As for Gaia, she wouldn't last in constant battle—she could only manifest herself, and her skill activation window was limited to ten minutes.
And Pawpaw? Well, knowing him, he was probably off having the time of his life at the palace with Alora.
At the thought of Alora, a familiar ache settled in his chest. He missed her. A lot.
It was frustrating that he couldn't communicate with her remotely. There was no way to check on her—unless Pawpaw decided to show up on his own, or Maylock, who was stationed in the capital, had the time to give him an update. But Maylock was always busy, so relying on him wasn't exactly ideal either.
Was there a way to communicate with NPCs over long distances?
He turned around, and there she was—a young woman with wavy brown hair, dressed in silver light armor accented with dark brown patterns that added extra detail to certain areas.
"Grill..." he responded.
"Welcome to the West Continent," she replied with a playful giggle.
SexyGrill was based in the West Continent, though this wasn't actually her hometown. Still, she and Leon had arranged to meet here, as it was the closest city to where Broken planned to begin his journey.
His goal? To search for clues regarding Ivana's whereabouts.
They decided to stay in town for the night and wait until morning.
Their next destination, according to Grill, wasn't exactly a safe place for most players. The monsters there? They were at least level 250.
250?
Broken paused for a moment, considering the number.
This could actually be a good opportunity to hunt and help push SexyGrill's level, but if they ended up spending too much time farming, it would only delay their journey further.
"Can we use Polly and fly over?" he asked.
"No, I don't think that's a good idea," Grill replied. "There are too many flying monsters in that area. We'd only make ourselves easier targets."
Broken gave a small nod. "If the monsters there are already this strong... then just how powerful are the ones we're actually looking for, Grill?"
"The Dragonkin?" Grill responded. "The information isn't complete, but I doubt they'll be easy to deal with."
She continued, "Some claim to have seen Dragonkin in that area, but because their levels are too high and their strength overwhelming, most who set foot in their territory are immediately killed."
"Oh, so the Dragonkin really are still alive? I thought the stories said they were completely wiped out."
SexyGrill turned to Broken, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
"That's exactly why we're here—to find out the truth."
"Sure."
For some reason, Broken felt certain that he could uncover some kind of clue about the Dragonkin.
If Maylock's theory was right, then the Dragonkin were the very ones mentioned in the fragmented poem he had obtained from King Elandorr's Trial Domain.
