Chapter 2010 - 1019: Disciple, Please Save Me_2
....
Just like that, Dorothy led everyone on a tour of the workshop, chatting away enthusiastically.
The tour didn’t officially end until dusk, and all the personnel from various workshops who came to visit were convinced that Stars Industry’s workshop was the ideal base for their future shipbuilding.
After all, given the choice between a sports car and a run-down tractor, who wouldn’t choose the sports car?
By the end of the tour, everyone leaving was rather reluctant, clearly eager to start working immediately.
The Homebody Witch smiled, knowing her "Seduction" technique was already halfway successful.
For these shipbuilders, a perfect workshop was far more appealing than any form of beauty. And this was just a glimpse; once they began shipbuilding and truly experienced the joys of Stars Industry, many would undoubtedly become addicted to the comforts it offered.
Hehehe, once I’ve molded these guys into the shape of the workshop, I’ll never be short of manpower again.
Indeed, as long as the bait is good, there’s no fish that won’t bite.
I’m just going to sit back and watch the harvest.
After bidding farewell to the visitors, Dorothy turned her gaze to her Spider Teacher, who had been hesitant to speak.
"Teacher, if you want to ask something, just ask. I’ve noticed you’ve been struggling with something this whole time."
The Homebody Witch said helplessly.
She had deliberately left such a big clue for her teacher and couldn’t believe the Spider Teacher didn’t see the problem.
"I....."
Noelle Rose opened her mouth but swallowed her words again, looking cautiously at the others present.
"Teacher, don’t worry. Sophia and Senior Mia are trustworthy. Just ask your question."
Dorothy assured, looking at the two sisters beside her.
At this point, only the four of them remained in the workshop.
Noelle Rose: "..."
The Spider Witch fell silent.
What’s there to ask?
If she was only fifty percent sure when she saw the puppet, then after touring the workshop, she was eighty-eight percent sure.
If it were just a proxy puppet, it could be a coincidence. But too many so-called "self-developed with Miss Witch" techniques shared traces of her secret technique, which couldn’t be a coincidence.
And now Dorothy’s attitude—she might as well have written the words "reveal cards" on her face.
Although she was ninety-nine percent sure, Noelle Rose took a deep breath and asked.
"Dorothy, is there a chance that I have split personality disorder and another me is actually the Witch of the Forest?"
Dorothy: "...."
Looking at her teacher with eight sinister spider eyes staring unblinkingly, the Homebody Witch, prepared to nod and admit she was the Witch of the Forest, fell silent.
She had to admit, teachers are teachers after all. Even she couldn’t follow this miraculous thought process.
"Don’t be skeptical. After all, those of us who specialize in puppetry are prone to split personality disorders, especially with my lineage’s puppetry technique that requires multitasking or parallel consciousness—it only makes it easier to develop such conditions."
"Hmm, maybe my parallel consciousness developed independent awareness—that’s the only way to explain why the Witch of the Forest knows so many of my secret techniques. She’s so similar, too similar."
Noelle Rose said earnestly and seriously.
Dorothy: "..."
The Homebody Witch fell silent again.
"Teacher, isn’t there a possibility that I taught her?"
She suggested.
But the Spider Witch immediately shook her head.
"Impossible, absolutely impossible. Knowledge has strength. If my secrets were spread without my permission, I would sense both the transmitter and the learner."
Noelle Rose affirmed.
Dorothy blinked at this.
Oh wow, is there really such a concept? That’s something I genuinely didn’t know.
"Then the answer is clear. The Witch of the Forest must be either you or me. It must be me; it can’t be you, a sixteen-year-old kid."
The Spider Witch said expressionlessly.
Dorothy: "....."
The genius logic; teacher, your reasoning is indeed flawless.
The Homebody Witch clapped her hands, then mercilessly interrupted her teacher’s self-deception.
"I’m sorry, teacher, but the Witch of the Forest really is me."
She stated calmly and confidently.
Then, Dorothy watched carefully for her Spider Teacher’s reaction, ready to blink at any moment, as her CG collection plan was still ongoing.
To the Homebody Witch’s surprise, her teacher showed no signs of expected rage or shock, surprisingly remaining calm, which left Dorothy feeling a bit unsettled.
"Teacher, first of all, I really didn’t do it on purpose. Before I became your apprentice, I was unaware of your history with the Witch of the Forest—I just found out recently."
She explained cautiously.
However....
"Thump...."
There was a sound of knees hitting the ground, and Noelle Rose knelt decisively.
The Homebody Witch: "....."
Oh my, teacher, you shouldn’t be doing this.
She obviously couldn’t accept this grand gesture and quickly prepared to step aside.
But Noelle Rose anticipated her movement, lunging forward and clinging to her beloved student’s leg.
"Woo woo woo, Miss Witch, I’m your fan. Please help me, I have so many projects that are stuck, and I can’t think of anything. You understand my thoughts so well; please teach me."
The Spider Witch sobbed impulsively.
Dorothy: "...."
Wow, flipping the heavens indeed.
She had to admit she overestimated her teacher’s moral integrity. Judging by her Spider Teacher’s behavior, this one had none.
I’m so silly, really, given the Spider Teacher’s fondness for talent, she would forgive anything if the person had talent. She couldn’t possibly be angry knowing her apprentice turned out to be the Witch of the Forest; she’d be ecstatic.
And right now...
The Homebody Witch looked down at her teacher clutching her leg desperately, eyes filled with "disciple, save me."
Her imagination had been too limited by moral integrity to expect this to happen.
It’s not just Dorothy who was stunned—Sophia and Senior Mia beside her were equally astonished.
And there was also Mother Dragon, who had secretly arrived after Noelle Rose’s puppet incident and had been silently observing.
"Rosie, can you act more decently? You’ve already exhausted your family, and now you’re set on exhausting your disciple?"
Euphilia couldn’t tolerate any longer and jumped out, delivering a punch that left her friend crying in pain, rolling on the floor.
"What do you mean I set on exhausting my disciple? Isn’t taking on a disciple meant for future support? Otherwise, why would I take one? It’s just like raising children—isn’t it all about being supported in old age, except it’s the same with disciples."
Noelle Rose felt somewhat intimidated by her Senior, but she mustered the courage to speak self-righteously.
This time Dorothy was truly stunned.
Wow, teacher, did you take me as your apprentice with this intent?
Oh, no wonder you love talent so much and forgive anything if the person has talent. Turns out it was all about finding a meal ticket. Certainly, a talented one tastes better.
Wow, I didn’t think of this move?
Spider Teacher, you’re truly a genius.
The Homebody Witch thought, astonished by the genius logic.
Indeed, the Spider Teacher turned out to be an even bigger homebody than she was.
But wait, teacher, did you really get kicked out of your home for exhausting your family’s resources? But isn’t it said that with your talent, you shouldn’t be allowed out until you become a Sage?
Just how much did you exhaust your family?
....Dorothy pondered curiously.....
