Chapter 130 An Endless Quarrel
Chapter 130 An Endless Quarrel
Chapter 131 An Endless Quarrel
Xia Li stubbornly refused to say anything, seemingly afraid of being blamed by Song Che. In the end, she managed to squeeze out one sentence: "I helped you sleep a few times when I stayed up late."
It helped me sleep, they said.
After breakfast, it was already bright outside the window, and the tree downstairs seemed more alive, with tender buds peeking out, adding to the spring scenery.
There are pedestrians coming and going, most of whom have taken off their heavy cotton-padded coats and put on casual long clothes. The weather has warmed up recently, and sweaters are a bit too hot to wear. Autumn clothes are just right.
As Song Che looked downstairs, two people outside the iron gate waved to him. Jiang Shuo and Zhang Hanyu had already arrived at his doorstep.
After tidying up the dishes and chopsticks, I took Xia Li out.
Upon meeting, Jiang Shuo gave him a big hug, while Zhang Hanyu playfully punched him.
"Let's go, and buy some snacks while we're at it. I haven't been out in ages." Jiang Shuo patted the electric scooter behind him. "Any cars? Lao Yu came on an electric scooter too."
-
"There's a car." Song Che shook his keys. "How long have you two been waiting? Why didn't you say anything?"
"Just got here, I was just about to send you a message." Jiang Shuo got on his electric scooter. "By the way, my dad said we should get together sometime. He hasn't seen Uncle Song in a long time and wants to have a drink and catch up."
"Okay, my dad's at home, probably busy playing blues."
"You mean your cat that can do backflips?"
"That's right, but Bruce doesn't like him. He's practically bald from all the stroking." Song Che got into the car, turned around to make sure Xia Li was seated properly, and followed Jiang Shuo. "Where are we going, the big supermarket?"
"No, things are too expensive in big supermarkets, it's not worth it. Let's go to the mall, they have good stuff there." Jiang Shuo slowed down the car. "Zhang Hanyu knows about it, she spends all her time at home researching where to go."
"Zhang Hanyu?" Song Che looked at her; she had dark circles under her eyes, indicating she'd been staying up late non-stop. "Didn't you play games all day? Did you change careers?"
"No, I've had enough of games, and nobody plays with me anymore, so I've quit." Zhang Hanyu spoke in a mature tone, "That stuff is no good. I should focus on my studies so my parents won't scold me again."
"The computer was confiscated?" Jiang Shuo interjected.
How did you know?
"I'm not stupid. You haven't quit, you just can't play anymore."
"Xing, you're making fun of me like this." Zhang Hanyu rolled her eyes at him, "Next time, help me fill in the numbers and be my girlfriend, so you can take the place of my blind date."
"No, I need to correct you. What do you mean by 'I'll be your girlfriend'?"
"Otherwise what? You're so skinny, you don't look like a man." Zhang Hanyu said this, but he kept smiling. "You're lucky. I'm a woman, after all. Aren't you always being teased by Xiaoxiao for not being able to find a partner?"
"You still know you're a woman." Jiang Shuo's train of thought was disrupted by her. "Besides, Xiao Xiao's story is pure nonsense. I can't find her because I don't want to. I—"
"Alright, alright, I won't make fun of you anymore." Zhang Hanyu said, then laughed twice more.
Song Che watched the two bickering but didn't say anything.
If he opens his mouth, he'll definitely be on the battlefield and won't be able to get out. The three of them have always been like this. They seem to be mocking each other, but in reality—they are really mocking each other, but they laugh more happily than anyone else.
Nobody cares about being sarcastic or not.
I'm just a sarcastic person who wants to say something to insult the other person.
Or you might get insulted by the other party.
However, once the two started bickering, they couldn't stop, but in the end, Jiang Shuo had to give in because Zhang Hanyu and Jiang Xiaoxiao had a good relationship, and for a sister-obsessed person like him, she was the biggest enemy.
Xia Li clutched Song Che's clothes from the back seat. "Are they arguing?"
Song Che paused for a moment, then said, "Yeah, just making noise for fun."
"Arguing—you can even argue for fun." Xia Li felt like they were about to come to blows.
Anyway, she rarely argues; she usually takes direct action to deal with her enemies.
However, those she argues with are all enemies, except for Song Che. Song Che always loses and insults her, so it's not a loss for Song Che to be beaten.
Jiang Shuo and Zhang Hanyu began their daily mutual slander, in order to consolidate their own positions. Finally, they stopped the car and questioned Song Che as if he were a referee.
"Song Che, do you think I'm better at math than Jiang Shuo?"
"yes----"
Song Che was interrupted before he could finish speaking. Jiang Shuo said, "You're only good at one subject at a time. To put it nicely, you're a god of war who excels at one subject at a time. To put it bluntly—you're just an egg."
Jiang Shuo didn't treat her like a girl at all.
"You're the one who's a nobody, you just got a few points higher than me in total."
"One point can take down a thousand people."
"I'll fucking kill you—"
"Why are you getting so worked up!"
"Song Che, you be the judge!" The two turned to look at Song Che.
"I----"
Before Song Che could even offer any explanation, the two started fighting again.
"If you ask me, let's not compare grades, let's compare height."
"Why not compete in playing video games?"
"I'm not stupid."
"I'm not stupid!"
"I run faster than you."
"My handwriting is better than yours."
"I sing better than you."
"I disagree with what you're saying—"
The two continued grumbling and cursing all the way.
Ultimately, Zhang Hanyu won because she had the advantage of accessing learning resources about sister complex.
Zhang Hanyu's move was too ruthless.
Xia Li sat in the back seat listening, occasionally asking Song Che a question or two.
"Didn't you say last time that you controlled everything? Really?"
"It's fake." Song Che didn't want to discuss this in public, at least not in the way Zhang Hanyu was using study materials to negotiate with Jiang Shuo.
Jiang Shuo actually believed it.
vulgar!
"So what kind of fetish do you have?" Xia Li asked, her hands on Song Che's waist. "I want to know."
"You—" Song Che had a bad feeling. "If I don't tell you what kind of fetish I am, you're going to try to control me, aren't you?"
"That's a good idea," Xia Li said. "Then let's do it this way. Tell me, and I won't control you."
"Don't rush, do you know what [control] means?"
"I know, it's just that I have a special liking for certain things—like being a leg fetishist, I just like legs. Come to think of it—you seem to be a leg fetishist."
"Keep your voice down." Song Che gestured. Jiang Shuo and Zhang Hanyu were too cunning; he couldn't let them hear the gossip. "I'm a Xia Li fanatic, you know? I only fanatic about Xia Li."
"Xia Li fanatic—" Xia Li pondered for a moment, then frowned slightly, "I feel like you're lying to me."
"I'm not lying to you. It's because I like you that I'm obsessed with you." Song Che subtly changed the subject.
"That makes sense," Xia Li nodded, watching the two bickering. "Can you sing? Why are they arguing about that?"
"As for me—I can do it a little bit, I just hum a tune sometimes, as for the two of them—" Song Che followed up and listened to what they were doing, "They're eating water shield."
I want to sing too.
"I think you need to be more rational."
Song Che remembered the last time Xia Li sang, they were in Taixi, and Xia Li insisted on coaxing him to sleep—he finally fell asleep, but not because of Xia Li's lullaby, but because of Xia Li's legs. It was so comfortable to use as a pillow. If it weren't for the lap pillow, no matter how much Xia Li coaxed him, he wouldn't have been able to fall asleep.
Before he could finish explaining, Zhang Hanyu parked her electric scooter. It had run out of power after only two minutes, just as she reached the vicinity of the No. 1 Middle School.
She glanced at Song Che, then at Jiang Shuo, and parked the car outside the gate of No. 1 Middle School. "I'll sit behind you; you're getting a good deal."
Four people on two bikes, one in front of the other, rode towards the mall.
Jiang Shuo led the way, riding the electric scooter at breakneck speed. Zhang Hanyu, riding on the back, had her hair flying wildly in the wind, cursing as she clung tightly to his clothes. Jiang Shuo ignored her, instead riding even faster, shouting, "I'm taking you for a ride and you're still cursing me!"
Song Che followed behind, riding at a moderate pace.
Xia Li sat in the back seat, her hands gripping the sides of his shirt. The wind blew in her face, blowing her silver hair back and revealing her entire face. She squinted, watching the two people in the car in front of her bickering.
She leaned closer, her voice slightly muffled by the wind.
"Have they always been like this?"
Song Che thought for a moment.
"Pretty much," he said. "We've known each other for years, and we always end up arguing whenever we meet."
Xia Li nodded.
She watched as Zhang Hanyu reached out from behind and grabbed Jiang Shuo's neck. Jiang Shuo dodged and cursed as the electric scooter swerved on the road like a drunken snake, looking very dangerous.
"Won't you fall?" she asked.
"We fell before," Song Che said. "The two of us were riding our bikes and throwing water bottles at each other, and then it tipped over."
Xia Li was stunned for a moment.
"and then?"
"Then I got up and kept throwing them." Song Che smiled. "Only after I finished throwing them did I go to the hospital for treatment."
Xia Li thought about that scene.
Two people were fighting on the roadside. They fell down, got up and continued fighting. After they finished, they went to the hospital together.
She suddenly found it kind of funny.
"They have a very good relationship," she said.
"Hmm." Song Che nodded, "They're as close as enemies."
The wind continued to blow, and there were willow trees by the roadside, their branches already turning slightly green and drooping softly. However, most of their branches were woody and didn't look very appealing.
After riding for about twenty minutes, Jiang Shuo turned into a shopping mall ahead.
Song Che followed them inside, where Jiang Shuo had already parked the car and was waiting for them.
"Is this it?" Song Che parked the car and took the key out.
"Yeah, the top three floors are all shopping malls." Jiang Shuo pointed to the elevator. "Let's go buy some equipment first."
The four people entered the elevator.
There were other people in the elevator, including an auntie pushing a stroller, whose child was staring at them with wide eyes. Jiang Shuo made a face at the child, who paused for a moment, then laughed.
Zhang Hanyu rolled his eyes.
"childish."
"What do you know? This is called approachability."
"Is this how you use 'approachability'?"
"Otherwise what?"
The two of them started again.
The elevator reached the third floor, the doors opened, and four people squeezed out.
The third floor was the sporting goods section, which wasn't crowded, with only a few scattered customers browsing. Jiang Shuo led them in one direction with practiced ease, saying as they walked, "Decathlon is just ahead. I bought some there last year; the stuff was alright, and the prices were cheap."
Zhang Hanyu chimed in, "You bought ski gear last year, used it once, and then just left it there, right?"
Jiang Shuo turned around and glared at her.
"It's none of your business how many times I use it."
"I'll take care of it."
Song Che listened without interrupting, then turned to look at Xia Li.
Xia Li was looking around, her eyes scanning the exercise equipment. There were treadmills, yoga mats, dumbbells, and basketballs. She was looking at them intently, as if she were studying something new. She had seen some of these before, but had never actually used them herself.
"Never seen it before?" Song Che asked.
Xia Li shook her head.
"I've seen it," she said. "I've seen it on my phone."
She pointed to a treadmill.
"Someone was walking while looking at their phone and then it fell."
Song Che smiled.
That's courting death.
Xia Li nodded and continued reading.
Jiang Shuo stopped at the entrance of Decathlon.
"We're here," he said. "Go inside and choose whatever you want to buy."
Four people went inside.
It's a large place, with rows and rows of shelves filled with all kinds of sports equipment. The ski area is at the very back, with skis hanging on the walls and ski goggles, gloves, hats, protective gear, and the like on the shelves.
Song Che led Xia Li that way.
Jiang Shuo and Zhang Hanyu followed behind, still bickering.
"What are you buying?" Jiang Shuo asked Zhang Hanyu.
"I'm not buying anything," Zhang Hanyu said. "I have everything."
"You have it? When did you buy it?"
"last year."
"Didn't you say you were broke last year?"
"Save it up."
"Saved it up?" Jiang Shuo was skeptical. "Do you think I don't know how much pocket money you get each month? You think you could save any money?"
Zhang Hanyu glared at him.
"The New Year's money my mom gave me."
Jiang Shuo was stunned for a moment.
"Did your mom give you lucky money?"
"Nonsense, what else would we give if not lucky money during Chinese New Year?"
"Didn't your mom confiscate your computer?"
Zhang Hanyu paused for a moment.
"Those are two different things," she said. "New Year's money is New Year's money, and a computer is a computer."
Jiang Shuo thought for a moment and nodded.
"That makes sense. I'll tell my mom that when I get back."
Song Che, who was listening nearby, almost burst out laughing.
He walked to the ski area, picked up a pair of ski goggles, and looked at them. The price tag read 120. Not expensive, but not cheap either.
"How about this?" He handed the snow goggles to Xia Li.
Xia Li took it and looked at it over and over.
"Try wearing it," Song Che said.
Xia Li put the snow goggles on her eyes.
The lenses were dark, and once she put them on, her eyes were completely covered. Only half of her face was visible, showing her straight nose and pursed lips.
She looked up at Song Che.
"How is it?"
Song Che looked at the half-covered face.
Silver hair, dark sunglasses, and fair skin.
"It looks good," he said.
Xia Li nodded and took off her snow goggles.
"This one will do."
She put her snow goggles into the shopping basket next to her.
Jiang Shuo leaned closer.
"Just buying snow goggles?" He looked at the basket. "What about a hat? Gloves? Protective gear?"
Xia Li thought for a moment.
"I think I have everything else; my aunt bought it."
"Auntie is so kind!" Jiang Shuo was still envious even though he knew about this.
Compared to Zhang Shushu, his mother was a tyrant.
They won't give you New Year's money, they won't give you anything, and you still want money?
Earn it through grades!
Is this her biological mother?
Jiang Shuo felt that this wasn't it!
"Did your aunt buy them both?"
"Yes, we each bought one set. I didn't have enough money saved up, otherwise I would have bought one myself," Xia Li said honestly.
"Are you saving money?"
"She made some money doing manual labor, but not much," Song Che explained. "Didn't we talk about last time? She's an FPS genius. How about a one-on-one match with Xia Li?"
"Sure, come on! I love challenging experts."
"What's up? I want to come too!"
Upon hearing about the game, Zhang Hanyu immediately moved closer, alert. Of the four people present, the combined game time of the other three didn't even equal hers.
Of course, his skills are definitely not as good as hers.
She is a game specialist.
