The Labyrinth of the Monsters

Chapter 46 – Bloody Battle

Chapter 46 – Bloody Battle

"Bang!" The main gate was fiercely struck from the outside.

"Crack!" A hand covered in green scales forcefully pierced through the door panel, and soon, another hand followed. The two hands swung and tore at the door like chainsaws, quickly creating a large hole.

Then, a half-beast transformed young man crawled in through the hole. Gao Yang immediately recognized him as the literary youth, Zhi, from the village.

His eyes bulged out from under his glasses, leaving only eerie whites. His face twisted, ferocious and violent, with hungry saliva dripping from his mouth. His half-transformed body had already entered the room. "Humans, humans, humans..."

"Bang!" A bullet shot into his eye.

"Ah!" He let out a painful howl.

A sharp Tang Blade stabbed into his wide-open mouth, piercing through his throat. Zhi convulsed a few times and gradually stopped moving.

"Sizzle!" As Qing Ling drew her sword, a splash of blood splattered onto Wang Zikai's face.

Wang Zikai stood frozen in place. Although he had been the most boastful before, he didn't seem as brave or enjoy killing as much as he had imagined.

"Don't just stand there!" Officer Huang shouted at Wang Zikai.

Wang Zikai snapped back to his senses.

"Die!" Wang Zikai kicked Zhi, who was stuck in the doorway, sending him flying. It had to be said that as a young beast, Wang Zikai possessed incredible natural strength.

"Growl, growl!" More beasts rushed over from the courtyard, crashing into the door.

The fragile and dilapidated door could no longer hold up, collapsing with a loud crash. Three half-human, half-beast villagers climbed up from the door panel, completely ignoring Wang Zikai, and pounced towards Qing Ling and Officer Huang behind him.

"Bang!"

"Swish!"

Gunshots and sword flashes occurred simultaneously, blood splattering everywhere. Two beasts fell to the ground, while Wang Zikai grabbed the waist of the one in the middle, his arms rapidly transforming into two bronze "giant pincers."

Chubby Jun ran over to support Gao Yang and retreated to a corner of the wall, his hands covering Gao Yang's chest. Gao Yang felt a burning sensation in his chest and looked down, finding a long and narrow wound.

"Soon... soon... it's okay... it's okay..." Chubby Jun trembled all over, his brain completely dominated by fear, mechanically repeating those words.

"Thud!" A pair of ape-like arms covered in brown fur broke through the window, grabbing Chubby Jun's neck and forcefully pulling him back.

"Ah!" Chubby Jun screamed, luckily his fat body got stuck in the window and he couldn't be dragged out.

Gao Yang didn't have time to worry about the wound on his chest. He quickly jumped up and used all his strength to stab the dagger into the ape-like arm. There was a scream from outside the window, and the ape-like arm retracted."Mom, save me! Help..." Chubby Jun, who had just been rescued, didn't have the time to express his gratitude. He crawled desperately on the ground, squeezing himself under a table, hugging his head and curling up into a ball, his mental strength completely shattered.

Gao Yang knew that Chubby Jun had done his best, and there was nothing to blame him for.

He stood up, clutching the wound on his chest. At this moment, there were piles of bodies outside the door.

Officer Huang had used up all his bullets. He threw away his gun, picked up a rusty cleaver from the corner, and retreated to Gao Yang's side: "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine!" Gao Yang gripped his dagger tightly, gritting his teeth.

An agile beast, moving on all fours like a cheetah, charged through the door. It dodged Qing Ling's horizontal slash with a nimble leap and pounced on Officer Huang.

"Ah!" Officer Huang swung his cleaver at the beast's head, but missed and hit its shoulder instead. The beast, with its great momentum, continued forward and knocked Officer Huang to the ground.

It howled in anger, opening its mouth full of fangs, and was about to bite Officer Huang's neck.

Gao Yang rushed forward, gripping his dagger tightly. Using the weight of his falling body, he fiercely stabbed it into the back of the beast's head. The sharp blade pierced through the beast's skull, protruding from its mouth, almost reaching Officer Huang's eyes. A large amount of thick blood mixed with disgusting brain fluid flowed down the blade and onto Officer Huang's face.

Officer Huang struggled to push the beast off him, picked up his cleaver again, and helped Gao Yang up. The two of them, panting heavily, stood back to back, waiting for the next round of fighting.

"Are you okay?" Officer Huang wiped the filth off his face and asked again.

"I'm fine!" Gao Yang's eyes were bloodshot.

"Good!" Officer Huang shouted excitedly: "My wife hasn't given birth yet, I can't die here!"

"I can't die here either!" Gao Yang echoed excitedly. He couldn't think of a compelling reason at the moment, so on a whim, he shouted: "I'm still a virgin!"
