Chapter 19: Shadow Teleport

[Everyone, gather!] spoke Faceless with an authoritative voice. The researchers who were no match for Faceless gathered in one place. A force had entered their minds and was controlling them like puppets. The researchers stood in an organised queue. Faceless then Soul Searched the researchers one by one, after the Soul Search, the researchers dropped dead.

‘Interesting. What an out of the box way of thinking. Humans can truly be terrifying if given enough time to grow.’ thought Faceless while Soul Searching the researchers. Soon he'd finished his Soul Search and didn't walk to the tree but walked towards the safe. He pressed a few buttons and the safe opened, inside the safe were six fruits that exuded great energy and vitality.

These fruits were incomparable to the fruits on the tree as they were fully ripe while the fruits on the tree were yet to be fully ripe. Faceless then took the six fruits before seemingly disappearing like a ghost.

Thirty minutes to one hour after Faceless had left the island, a submarine appeared on the surface of the ocean. An army of cyborg got out of the submarine. You could see from their shell armour that they very powerful cyborgs, unlike the ones that Faceless had faced. As for whether or not they'd give Faceless a tough time, it was unknown.

Leading the army of cyborgs was a middle aged man with a full beard, a scar on his forehead and a cigar in his mouth. This man looked like a certified Army General from his aura alone.

“Check the coast. If the intruder is still inside, kill him, if not then report back to me.” said the man.

“Yes, General Gub.” The cyborgs then entered the island, armed and ready for action. They checked the perimeter before entering the building, once inside, they were welcomed by hordes of corpses neatly piled in each floor. There was no sign of the enemy both above and below and everyone was dead.

“Gub. What exactly happened here?” asked someone who was flying over with metallic wings on his back. He wasn't alone, someone was flying beside him, soon, these two people landed on the ground and their wings disappeared inside their bodies.

“I don't know. I was waiting for your arrival so we can check things out together. By the way, you're supposed to greet people when you see them, good morning Madam Chun, David.”

“Good morning to you too Gub.” answered the Chinese looking lady who was both beautiful and intelligence.

“Hmph!” snorted the western looking man called David.

Shadow Teleport was the type of Ability that needed both massive amounts of energy as well as Soul Sense. If one's Soul Sense could cover a hundred meters then he'd be able to teleport to any shadow a hundred meters away.

Faceless’s Soul Sense could spread for hundreds of kilometres, the only problem was the energy consumption. Faceless then disappeared and reappeared a hundred kilometres away. Then he had to fly for a while before using Shadow Teleport again.

‘Damn it, I'm eating the fruits! Master only wanted one anyway.’ thought Faceless as he took out one fruit and ate it, his energy was replenish again.

It was already evening and Haoyu was sitting under the tree like he usually did. Jace on the other hand was practicing the Four Four Calamities Fist Technique but didn't seem to have made any progress. While practicing, Faceless suddenly appeared behind Jace while breathing heavily.

“Master... I'm back... haa... haa...haa”

“Faceless, you're back.” said Jace while using his Ability on Faceless. Faceless's energy was refilled and his fatigue also disappeared. In just seconds, he was as good as new.

“This... this...how...?”

“Don't bother about the useless stuff, did you get the fruit? Where is it?” asked Jace with excitement.

“I didn't disappoint you Master.” said Faceless while taking out two red banana looking fruits and gave them to Jace.

“This is great. One for me and the other for Scarlet.”

“Master, I don't recommend that you give the fruit to the Mistress. These types of fruits aren't recommended to cultivators with potential and talent.”

“What do you mean?” asked Jace and Faceless began to explain.

Turned out that fruits that forcefully increase one's cultivation base have their disadvantages. If a talented person eats the fruit, breaking past the cultivation realm given by the fruit is ten times harder to achieve. If someone with less talent eats the fruit, then they can forget about ever reaching higher realms of cultivation in their lifetime unless they eat another fruit.

“I see. So it's fine if I eat it since I don't have any cultivation talent or potential.”

Jace then sat cross legged and ate the fruit right then and there.
