Chapter 415 415: .|.
A month has passed since the start of the Elite Trial. More and more teams were eliminated from fighting demon beasts, other teams, or even the unpredictable environment itself.
Most of the students realized that the environment itself was more dangerous than the demon beasts and people are far more difficult to deal with than the environment. False alliances, betrayal, coercion, and other dirty tactics were employed just to win. Team members deceive each other to maximize benefits and fight for their own interests.
In the elite trial, the majority of the teams realized that unity was far more important and it should be their priority. After a month, the elite trial was about to enter the climax. The no.3, 2, and 1 high schools' elite students are the only last teams standing. Besides them, everyone was eliminated.
It further showed the gap between the quality of students.
The elite teams that survived successfully cleared obstacles one after another and fought beats and students like them nonstop.
The competition was intense as no student wanted to give up and desperately fought. After all, the results of the trial decide their fate. Would they stand up above the masses or live in mediocrity for the rest of their lives?
The students fought with the stake of their futures.
At this moment, Caleb, Voli, Ed, and Mic passed successfully out of the forest. It was a month of hellish battle for Mic and Ed as Caleb didn't shoot unless they were about to die. He just acted like a spectator watching everything with interest.
However, due to this, Ed and Mic's fighting experience grew richer by leaps and bounds to the point that they could fight at an ordinary sprout level and even intermediate sprout level once they teamed up together.
The two also fought with students in other schools. It forced Caleb to make a move most of the time because humans are far more cunning than demon beasts. The students of another school could come up with countermeasures against Mic and Ed.
Mic nodded in agreement, his eyes reflecting the seriousness of the situation. "Jun Ho is known for his strength and cunning. We'll need to be on our guard if we want to stand a chance against him."
Ed clenched his fists, his expression resolute. "Well, we won't know unless we try. But we need to be smart about it. We can't afford to make any mistakes."
As they walked, their conversation turned to strategizing for their upcoming encounter with Jun Ho. They discussed possible tactics and ways to exploit any weaknesses he might have, all while keeping a close eye on their surroundings for any signs of danger.
Suddenly, Caleb stopped in his tracks, his senses tingling with a sense of foreboding. "Something's not right," he muttered, his eyes scanning the area for any signs of trouble.
Voli and the others immediately fell silent, their senses on high alert as they scanned the surroundings for any potential threats.
Then, without warning, a group of students from another school emerged from the trees, their eyes filled with malice as they advanced toward Caleb and his team.
"We've been waiting for you, Adam," one of them sneered, their voice dripping with contempt. "We heard you were coming, and we're here to make sure you don't make it out of here alive."
Caleb's eyes narrowed as he assessed the situation, his mind racing as he tried to come up with a plan. They were outnumbered and outmatched, but the problem wasn't really a problem to him. Even if you triple or even multiply to a hundred the enemies in front of him it would be useless.
'What plan? These kinds of guys are just flies.'
"Stay close," Ed whispered to his team, his voice barely audible over the rustling of the leaves. "We're in for a tough fight, but we can't afford to lose."
With that, Caleb and his team braced themselves for battle, their hearts pounding with adrenaline as they prepared to face their enemies head-on.
