Chapter 510 510: New Understanding

Rickon leaned back, his eyes reflecting the fires of distant thoughts as he began to describe the vast world outside.

"There are indeed other kingdoms," he began, "but they lie far beyond ours, separated by daunting natural barriers. Mighty mountains that pierce the sky, vast seas that stretch beyond the horizon—they all make travel and communication exceedingly rare."

Rickon's hands animatedly gestured as he painted a picture of the world map. "Between these kingdoms, there are numerous villages, both large and small, sprinkled like stars in the night sky. Each village, in its own right, hosts an adventurers' guild, serving as crucial waypoints for those brave enough to traverse these treacherous paths."@@@@

He paused for a moment, taking a sip from his drink before continuing. "Trade does occur, though it's limited by the geographical challenges. It's mostly carried by adventurous merchants who dare the wild routes, bringing with them tales as diverse as the goods they carry."

"The rarity of wars between kingdoms isn't due to a lack of desire for power or territory," Rickon explained, his tone turning serious. "It's because humanity faces a far greater threat—the monsters from the Extreme Wilderness. These creatures are relentless, and their numbers grow each year, threatening all of human civilization."

Rickon's voice dropped to a hush as he shared a chilling piece of history. "Just a century ago, a beast tide from the Extreme Wilderness surged forth, obliterating hundreds of kingdoms in its wake. Such events remind us that our true enemy is not each other but the horrors that lurk beyond our safe havens."

As Caleb meandered through the bustling streets, his gaze distant and his steps slow, his presence sparked curiosity among the passersby. "Has the old man gone senile?" one whispered to another, a hint of pity in his voice. Another, eyeing Caleb's bronze adventurer badge, nudged his companion and whispered, "Shush, be careful what you say about adventurers. They're not just anybody."

Indeed, adventurers held a high status in society. They were revered not just for their prowess but for their crucial role in keeping the monster populations at bay, ensuring the safety of the kingdom's borders. The person who had made the initial remark quickly shushed, his face turning a shade paler as he realized his mistake. A nearby bystander, overhearing the conversation, scolded them gently, "Respect our adventurers. They brave dangers we dare not face."

Unaware of the small commotion he had caused, Caleb continued on his way, lost in thought. His mind was a whirlwind of possibilities and plans. The Angel's Garden, with its divine name, suggested mysteries and treasures untold, ripe for exploration. The Extreme Wilderness, only marginally explored, promised challenges and unknown creatures that might test his mettle. And then there was the Black Continent, almost entirely untouched by human adventurers, shrouded in mystery and danger.

Caleb's heart raced with the thought of these places. He imagined confronting beasts that could push him to his limits, perhaps even forcing him to reveal the full extent of his powers—the same powers that had once shattered a planet. The idea excited him; such challenges were exactly what he craved.

But it wasn't just the potential battles that drew him. Each unexplored land held the promise of rare materials, possibly new elements he could use to enhance his abilities or create powerful new artifacts. The potential for discovering unique fusion materials was particularly enticing. Caleb knew that each material could hold the key to unlocking further powers or creating items of unimaginable strength.

As he wandered, his figure slowly blended into the crowd, his mind buzzed with strategies and preparations. He needed to tread carefully, to gather more information, and to plan meticulously. After all, venturing into such dangerous territories was no small feat, even for someone with his capabilities.

Maybe he would meet a level 6 or 7 monster in the Black Continent or even depths of the Extreme Wilderness which might be enough to threaten him or maybe, become his fusion materials that would allow him to achieve a higher leap in strength.
