Chapter 081: The Library
The school's library was located on the top floor of the teaching building, occupying the entire level due to its expansive size.
Since the start of the semester, this was Ning Chu's first visit to the library.
At the entrance, he used his student ID to register for a borrowing card. Curious, he looked around as he followed Wen Yang into the rows of towering bookshelves.

"I'm interested in this." Wen Yang looked up at him with a smile and suggested, "Why don't you head back first?"
"I'll stay."
"Don't worry, if any girls come to talk to me, I'll run away."
After taking only a few steps away from the history section, Ning Chu came towards him, holding a fantasy novel.
“Did you pick something? Let’s go eat!”
The moment Wen Yang saw Ning Chu, his gaze began to dart around, as if even exchanging a few words with a girl was a crime. Trying to act natural, he looked towards the library’s checkout counter. “Sure, I’ll go check out my book first.”
“I found something to read too!” Ning Chu held up the novel. “The setting looks interesting, and the writing style is light and funny.”
What’s with that smug tone?
It’s like a kid showing off a new toy after seeing their friend get one.
Wen Yang couldn’t help but smile, nodding in agreement. “The title does sound interesting. Let me borrow it after you’re done.”
“Just don’t damage it. Does borrowing books cost anything?”
“Nope, but you can only borrow one at a time.” Wen Yang approached the counter, registering his information and completing the checkout process. He then suggested, “How about we come to the library this weekend? There are so many books here, it’d take years to finish them all.”
“Yeah... sure!”
Compared to going shopping, working part-time, or playing basketball—activities that required obvious social interaction—the library was almost free of social obligations.
Besides, flashy girls usually didn’t hang out in libraries, so Wen Yang was much safer here.
After borrowing the books and leaving the library, Ning Chu still felt a bit uneasy and scanned the area one last time. He then cautioned, “If we come to the library this weekend, we need to head back by six in the evening.”
“Huh? Why?”

After one act of rebellion and almost getting tricked by a green tea girl, Wen Yang had clearly become much more obedient towards Ning Chu.
This made Ning Chu feel both relieved and worried.
It seems like Wen Yang’s affection for me isn’t going down at all!
