Epilogue Chapter 7 - Wedding Anniversary (5)

“Th-There’s no way! The probability is 1%! After how many times I’ve clicked it, it should've been a done deal!” Cha Yeon-Joo screamed in despair as she returned to gaming after their delicious lunch.

Oh Kang-Woo turned to look at her screen and saw a weapon placed in a box under the word Honing.

“What are you doing?”

“H-Huh? Oh, n-nothing.”

“Doesn’t look like nothing.”

A person wouldn’t be bawling as if they had lost their parents for nothing. Yeon-Joo flinched as she averted her gaze from Kang-Woo and smiled awkwardly.

“I-It’s no big deal. I’m just trying to strengthen my character and it isn’t going well.”

“Oh, then is that 1% you were talking about the probability for that strengthening?”

Kang-Woo didn’t know how many times Yeon-Joo could retry since he didn't know about the game she was playing, but 1% was extremely low. It also seemed quite expensive per try considering her reaction.

“Isn’t 1% way too low?” Kang-Woo asked.

“Huh? 1% is more than worth a try, isn’t it?”

“...?”

‘What’s wrong with you, my wife? Do you know what probability is?’

“So how many times have you tried it?”

“Get this, a hundred times! I pressed the button a whole hundred times! It’s mathematically impossible! Shouldn’t it become 100% since I played the 1% odds a hundred times?!”

“How does that become 100%?”

“Huh? Didn’t you hear me? One percent times a hundred! What’s one times a hundred? Huh? It’s one hundred!”

“...”

‘Oh, it’s not probability she doesn’t know, it’s just math in general.’

“But it still hasn’t worked! This has to be a bug, right? Right?”

“Trying something that has a one percent chance a hundred times doesn’t make it one hundred p—”

“You think it’s a bug too, right?!”

“Uhh... yeah, sure. It’s a bug.”

‘It’s okay. My wife is a bit of an idiot, she can’t cook, clean, or do laundry, and a bit flat-chested, but her personality is at least—’

“I’m gonna skin these motherfucking scammers alive and dump them in boiling oil!”

‘Her personality is a bit trash too, but... uh...’

“Yeon-Joo,” Kang-Woo called.

“Huh?”

“You’re so pretty.”

“H-Huh? Wh-What’s up with you all of a sudden?” Yeon-Joo reddened at the sudden compliment and poked Kang-Woo’s flank with her elbow.

She was acting nonchalantly but Kang-Woo could tell she was happy from the corners of her mouth slightly rising.

“Huhu. You don’t have to tell me that. I know I’m pretty.”

“Sure...”

‘I’m happy as long as my wife is happy.’

“How much is it per try?” Kang-Woo asked.

“Huh? O-Oh, you know. I just use the gold I earned in-game. I haven’t used any real money,” replied Yeon-Joo as she flusteredly turned away.

Kang-Woo stared at her with narrowed eyes.

“I thought you couldn’t play lately because of Kang-Hyun?”

“That’s...”

“Tell me. How much does it cost to try the strengthening once?”

“O-Once? Umm... a-about a thousand won...?”

Since she tried a hundred times, she had spent a hundred thousand won. However, even if Yeon-Joo had a fiery personality, she would never make a fuss over losing only that much.

“Wife, are you trying to lie to me?”

“Ngh...”

“I won’t get mad, so, be honest. How much is it to try once?”

“A-About a hundred thousand won...?”

“...”

Meaning, she had spent ten million won in the thirty minutes they had spent after eating lunch.

“C-Come on! You know how much I earn! I can use my money for hobbies!”

“You have a point.”

Slide.

The door closed again.

“...”

“...”

A deathly silence fell in the couple’s seat.

“Uhh... well.” Kang-Woo smiled awkwardly at Yeon-Joo trembling with her head down. “Why don’t we get back to the strengthening?”

***

“I’m sorry.”

“Shut it.”

“Please forgive me, my dear wife.”

“I said shut it.”

Kang-Woo did his best to appease the angry Yeon-Joo after they ran out of the PC room.

“I went too far.”

“I’ll rip your mouth off if you say one more word.”

Yeon-Joo glared at him fiercely.

Kang-Woo put on the cat ears that Yeon-Joo had put on and remarked, “I put it on too, so accept my apology. Please?”

“...”

“Do you want me to put on the tail too?”

“Your sentences...”

“Huh?”

“Put —nya at the end of your sentences too.”

‘Urgh, that’s a bit hard.’

Kang-Woo hesitated for a moment but he had no choice if he wanted to improve Yeon-Joo’s mood.

“Please forgive me-nya.”

“Pfft... It doesn’t suit you at all.”

However, Yeon-Joo’s expression relaxed slightly as the fruit of Kang-Woo's efforts.

‘Alright, I’ll use this momentum.’

There was a surefire way that would appease any sulking wife.

“Yeon-Joo, take a look at this.”

“What is it...?”

“Ta-dah.” Kang-Woo took out a large box from his shadow.

“What’s this?”

“A wedding anniversary gift for my beloved wife.”

“Oh?” Yeon-Joo took the box Kang-Woo handed her, eyes shining at the mention of a gift. “It’s pretty heavy.”

“Open it.”

“This is...” Yeon-Joo’s eyes widened after checking what was inside.

“According to Tae-Soo, it’s the gaming laptop with the best specs at the moment.”

“Wh-Where did you get this?! You can’t even get with money anymore because it’s a limited-edition model!”

“I persuaded them to get it.”

‘I’ll omit how I persuaded them.’

“Wow, just look at it! It’s awesome!”

Yeon-Joo smiled so radiantly as she examined the gaming laptop as if she had never been angry. She jumped into Kang-Woo’s arms, wrapped her arms and legs around him, and showered his lips with kisses.

“I love you, my hubby! You’re the best!”

As Kang-Woo had expected, gifts were super effective.

“Huuu... hubby, I think I’m turned on.”

“Huh? What’s turned on?”

“Let’s see... motels near me... Oh, this place looks nice.”

“Excuse me? Mrs. Wife?”

“Follow me, hubby. Make sure to bring those cat ears and tail too.”

The gift was far more effective than Kang-Woo had expected.
