"Are you alright?" She asked as she checked his pulse.

Long Yu clasped her hands and reassured her, "I'm fine. I just need some rest."

Relieved to see his complexion improving, she said in a heavy tone, "You shouldn't take such risks."

Looking at her concern, Long Yu wiped some black, sticky blood from her face with his fingers and said, "The situation was dangerous-I had no choice."

Though Yao Ran understood his reasoning, she couldn't help feeling uneasy. Overusing his energy could have dire consequences for his body and life span.

Seeing her furrowed brow, Long Yu leaned against her shoulder and said coquettishly, "Ran Ran, I'm tired."

Looking at his weak appearance, Yao Ran sighed, patted his back, and said, "Once we find a place to settle, I will prepare something delicious for you while you get some rest."

Hearing this, Long Yu knew she wasn't angry anymore and said in a good mood, "Mhm. I know you love me the most."

"....." Shi Xuan, sitting inside the car, was speechless as he overheard their conversation.

While Yao Ran and Long Yu were resting on the car's roof, Li Tianyu and the soldiers came out of the other military vehicles.

Seeing Shi Xuan stepping out of the car, Li Tianyu approached him and asked, "Brother Shi, how are you guys doing? Is anyone injured?"

Li Tianyu's expression darkened slightly when he remembered what she told him before. After a moment of silence, he asked, "Miss Yao, you think Commander Du is still spying on me?"

Yao Ran nodded, "Yes. I noticed some people watching us closely since we arrived. I suspect they are from your Second Army."

Li Tianyu frowned, deep in thought. After a brief pause, he said, "I understand."

Yao Ran smiled politely and said, "Captain Li, I hope you will consider my invitation to join our team."

Li Tianyu studied her for a moment before replying, "I will give you an answer after investigating these individuals and their relationship with Commander Du."

Satisfied with his answer, Yao Ran said, "Then I will await your good news."

When she walked back to the others, she said, "Captain Wu, we will be in your care for now."

Li Tianyu rejoined them and said to Long Yu, "Captain Long, I will head back to the barracks. If you need anything, you can find me there."

Long Yu nodded, "Alright."

With that, Li Tianyu turned to his soldiers and said, "Let's head back to the barracks."

As the Second Army soldiers departed, Long Yu leaned closer to Yao Ran and whispered, "Ran Ran, what did you discuss with Li Tianyu?"

Yao Ran lowered her voice and replied, "I will tell you when we are alone."

Understanding her caution, Long Yu nodded.

Now that Li Tianyu was gone, Wu Lian said, "Miss Yao, Captain Long, Brother Shi, please follow me."

They boarded the military vehicles, with Shi Xuan following Wu Lian's car to their temporary residence.

After a few minutes of driving, Yao Ran suddenly said, "Isn't this the road to the villa area?"
