Chapter 463: Are You Hiding Something From Me?

Chapter 463: Are You Hiding Something From Me?

Once alone, Fu Zongshang stood from his chair and walked to the floor-to-ceiling windows. Gazing at the busy soldiers, staff, and workers below, he fell into deep thought.

’Will humanity really perish in the future? Is there truly no way to save this planet?’

While he worried about humanity’s fate, time passed in the blink of an eye as survivors anxiously prepared for the incoming disaster.

Five days later, Yao Ran and the others finally arrived back at the air raid shelter.

When Shi Xuan and the others came out to welcome them, they immediately noticed Yao Yuechuan and his group. As soon as Jia Xiang, Shi Xuan, and Huang Qian recognized him, the three of them rushed forward.

Startled by their sudden movement, Yao Yuechuan let out a scream and quickly hid behind Yao Ran. "What do you guys want to do?! Don’t come here! Stay away from me!"

Seeing Jia Xiang reach out to grab him, Yao Ran hurriedly intervened, "Sister Jia, he is my elder brother."

At her words, Jia Xiang froze. With her fist mere millimeters from Yao Yuechuan’s nose, she turned to Yao Ran with wide eyes and asked, "He is your elder brother?"

Yao Ran nodded and replied, "Yes. He is my elder paternal cousin."

After confirming this, Jia Xiang retracted her fist and scratched her head awkwardly.

"Ah, I see." She nodded at Yao Yuechuan and said, "Sorry."

Yao Yuechuan, seeing them finally step back, rolled his eyes at them. With a grievance-filled expression, he clung to Yao Ran’s arm and complained, "Younger Sister, look at them. They are so aggressive. I’m so afraid."

Standing beside Yao Ran, Long Yu pulled Yao Yuechuan away from Yao Ran, and warned him with his eyes.

Wu Yehao, feeling his ears nearly fall off at Yao Yuechuan’s exaggerated tone, rubbed his temples and sighed.

Patting Yao Yuechuan’s shoulder again, he added, "Yuechuan, if something happens to me, please look after my younger brother."

Yao Yuechuan rolled his eyes at him, and then brushed Wu Yehao’s hand off. Shaking his head, Yao Yuechuan said, "Your brother is your responsibility, not mine. If you want him to survive, then make sure you come back alive and protect him yourself."

Wu Yehao chuckled at that and nodded. "Alright. I will come back safely."

With that, he returned to bid farewell to Yao Ran and the others.

Standing at the side, Yao Yuechuan watched as Wu Yehao and his men boarded the armored vehicles.

Just before closing the door, Wu Yehao gave Yao Yuechuan one last look. Then, he shut the door and ordered, "Let’s go."

As the vehicles disappeared into the distance, Yao Yuechuan’s eyes flickered for a moment before he smiled and turned back to Yao Ran. "Younger Sister, I’m starving. Do you have any good food here?"

Yao Ran studied him for a moment but found nothing unusual in his calm eyes.

Knowing Yao Yuechuan’s cheerful facade was often deceptive, she smiled back and said, "You can head to the dining area. I have things to take care of, so I won’t be joining you."

At this, Yao Yuechuan sighed in disappointment but nodded. "Alright."

He then turned to Deng Qiqi and asked, "Young Lady, can you show me the way?"

Deng Qiqi glanced at Shi Xuan, who gave her a nod. Seeing this, she turned to Yao Yuechuan and smiled politely, "Please, follow me."

As Deng Qiqi led Yao Yuechuan and his subordinates to the dining area, Yao Ran looked at Shi Xuan and the others. "I have something important to discuss with you guys."

Seeing the seriousness in her expression, Shi Xuan exchanged glances with the others before saying, "Let’s go to the meeting room."
