Chapter 698: The Spell of the Wine God!

When Murong Wu, with his influence in the Tiansheng Empire, spoke up, many of the empire's talented warriors gathered beside him.

Being around such a powerful figure meant that if he could feast on the benefits, perhaps others could at least share the leftovers.

Similarly, Feng Yan, Nangong Yu, and Yan Jinghong also stepped forward. This ancient array, while formidable, had endured the ravages of tens of thousands of years and would likely have weak points. If everyone combined their strength and focused on a single area, there was still a chance to break through it.

Meanwhile, Shen Lang of the Tianlong Empire stood quietly off to the side, drinking. The sword in his sleeve subtly shifted into his palm, ready to strike at any moment.

"Brother Ling," Feng Yan called to Ling Feng, "I'll try attacking with my Sky-Imprisonment Finger in a moment. You all should focus your most powerful attacks on the same spot."

"Understood," Ling Feng nodded slightly. He had already planned to team up with Feng Yan.

Fatty Huang, however, muttered discontentedly, "What's this? Young Master Feng, you're overestimating this guy. With his cultivation level, he won't be of much help."

Indeed, due to the Qi-Refining Primordial Lock, Ling Feng seemed to have only around fifty meridian gates opened, making him appear quite unremarkable—among the weakest of those who had entered the Battlefield of the Gods and Demons.

But Feng Yan, with his casual friendliness toward Ling Feng, left Fatty Huang somewhat puzzled.

"You might think I overestimate Brother Ling, but maybe it's just that you underestimate him," Feng Yan chuckled, glancing at Ling Feng with hidden meaning.

Once, in the Boneyard Wasteland, they encountered a creature nearly reaching the level of a demon king. Although Feng Yan eventually killed it with a single strike, he sensed the beast had already been seriously injured.

He had initially assumed it was Yan Jinghong's doing, but later noticed that Yan Jinghong's frosty power was distinctly different from the fire-based energy that had wounded the beast.

Furthermore, Ling Feng's calmness when dealing with Yan Jinghong hinted at something deeper. Adding all these coincidences together, Feng Yan was about 70-80% certain that Ling Feng was indeed the one who had injured the demon king!

With that kind of strength, it was a given Ling Feng was formidable—especially considering he was only in the Pulse Formation Realm!

If he advanced to the Spiritual Element Realm, how powerful would he become?

Ling Feng, catching the look Feng Yan gave him, felt somewhat guilty. He scratched his nose, took out his Eradicator of Realms weapon, and prepared to assist in the assault.

"Makes you envious, doesn't it?"

The discussions quickly faded, though, as everyone realized that Murong Wu, Feng Yan, Yan Jinghong, and Nangong Yu each had their own inherited skills, all of them comparable to the Wine God Sword Dao.

"Wine God Sword Dao huh?" Ling Feng touched his nose thoughtfully. He could tell Shen Lang didn't have a genuine passion for wine and was likely forcing himself to drink to master the Sword Dao. Because of this, he couldn't tap into the full potential of the Curse of the Wine God.

If his master Duanmu Qingshan were here instead, the technique would suit him far better—he was a true wine connoisseur, practically a complete drunkard.

Just then, Feng Yan brought his fingers together, channeling power through his fingers as he asked Fatty Huang, "Can you use your Dragon-Seeking Disk to locate the weakest point in the array?"

Fatty Huang started sweating a little. "I can try."

Muttering to himself, Fatty Huang chanted under his breath for a while before finally pointing to a rough area on the left side, somewhat hesitant, "Probably around here. Hehe, Hopefully I got it right."

Feng Yan rolled his eyes and was about to start searching the area for a precise target when Ling Feng stopped him.

"Brother Feng," Ling Feng said, "your Sky-Imprisonment Finger is stronger the more you focus it, right?"

"Of course," Feng Yan replied, turning to him curiously. "What are you suggesting?"

"Then concentrate your attack tenfold on a single spot—three feet above the left beam, right where the Purple Lightning true qi lies. I believe that's a weak point in the barrier."

No one noticed that Ling Feng's right eye briefly flickered with the divine inscription of the Heavenly Dao as he examined the array. The mark soon faded.

"Tsk! You think you can pinpoint a spot so accurately? Who do you think you are?" Fatty Huang scoffed, "With my dragon-seeking technique, I could only manage to estimate the general area, and you're here making random guesses. Just stay out of the way, would you?"

"I'm only offering advice," Ling Feng shrugged, "whether or not you believe it is up to Brother Feng."

Ling Feng simply thought Feng Yan was decent enough to merit a tip, so he pointed him toward the weak spot to help him conserve strength. That way, he'd have energy left for the upcoming scramble for the secret techniques inside.

Feng Yan narrowed his eyes, sizing up Ling Feng, and then laughed, "Among friends, trust is key. Brother Ling, I believe you!"

With that, Feng Yan condensed his energy and unleashed his Sky-Imprisonment Finger at the exact spot Ling Feng had indicated.
