Chapter 106 I Wasn't Crazy After All (2)

Having thoroughly searched through most influential nobles' houses, now he'd need to either raid the head's main building or directly capture and torture Middle-aged faction nobles to get information, but both were too burdensome to attempt without getting Meisa's cooperation first.

Materials to persuade her were perfectly prepared.@@@@

He had copied all related documents using ash drawing, which applied the technique of drawing portraits using ash and paper.

Looking at Meisa's current situation, just delivering such materials should be enough to gain her trust.

Turan decided to contact Meisa on exactly the tenth night since infiltrating here.

This was calculated because during the day there were many people walking around so unexpected noise was more likely to draw attention, and it would be advantageous for hiding and escaping if things went wrong.

Leaving the mansion where he had been secretly staying, Turan flew toward Meisa's mansion while maximally heightening the holy relic's senses.

Countless living beings within the main house entered his senses.

After checking these one by one for a while, Turan let out a light sigh realizing he couldn't find his target this time either.

'Still not here this time too?'

Over the past few days, whenever he had time, Turan had used the holy relic's senses to check if there were other races here.

Based on past Black Spirit necromancer cases, if White Spirit life mages existed, their presence should be felt too.

Two hypotheses could be roughly drawn from this.

Either they didn't need life mages to exchange souls, or they kept them outside the main house or in special spaces that couldn't be detected.

He personally thought it was probably the latter.

Based on experience so far, the Mimic holy relic's senses were unexpectedly often blocked in unreasonable situations.

While thinking various things inwardly and approaching Meisa's mansion, Turan realized she wasn't in her mansion.

Two AM, a time when normal people wouldn't have business, yet.

'Where did she go?'

Perhaps she couldn't sleep at night from sleeping too much during the day and went for a walk?

Fortunately Meisa's presence was so huge that he could easily find her by expanding his senses.

Come to think of it, her leaving her house was rather a perfect opportunity.

He had been thinking of just secretly leaving related materials in case there was a secret surveillance system even the holy relic couldn't detect in Meisa's room, but outside he could even talk to her.

What appeared before Turan as he flew toward her was a large bakery wafting old bread and flour smells.

"It wasn't intentional. I'm sorry."

Meisa's extremely thin face was harder to read expressions from compared to others, but if guessing it seemed to mix anger and embarrassment.

It was natural, as not only was a young lady caught repeatedly eating and vomiting food by others, but especially if it was related to personal emotional wounds she wouldn't want to reveal it.

That brief moment passed, and the emotions carved on Meisa's face soon changed to shock and wariness.

She seemed to have finally deeply thought about what it meant for Turan to be here now.

"How did you get in here? Did you come with Asiz? If you came in as a guest, there's no way I wouldn't have heard about it."

"I snuck in. But before that, could you look at this first? It's important."

While casually mentioning sneaking into a great house's stronghold - something that would shock others to hear - Turan immediately held out documents copied from Arabion nobles' mansions.

Even then, Meisa accepted and opened them instead of questioning further.

"What is this?"

"Got it from nobles here."

The truth would be for her to see and judge herself.

After saying just that much and closing his mouth, Meisa looked back and forth between the documents and Turan before frantically scanning the documents with her large protruding eyes.

Turan lightly added to her:

"For reference, the Leto written there is indeed that maid from the main house. She's a noble with Zahar bloodline."

Though Meisa's whole body flinched at the shocking statement, she didn't stop reading the documents even in that state.

She seemed deeply immersed in their contents already.

After about ten minutes passed like that, Meisa crumpled the paper she was holding and burst out laughing.

Her skinny hands trembled.

"As I thought, I knew it, of course. I wasn't crazy after all..."

Though worried she might faint from intense emotions, fortunately Meisa just shed tears while managing herself quite well.

It was amazing how that much tears could come from such an emaciated body.

Shortly after, Meisa looked at Turan and spoke after calming somewhat:

"Then, will you tell me now? How you got this and why you came to show it to me."

Unlike the words requesting explanation, her blue eyes looking this way were already full of trust.

Turan could feel that Meisa had desperately wanted such information, and thus deeply trusted him who had brought what she desired.
