Chapter 79 Where Ambition Leads

[Supporter Rank has been upgraded to Devotee]

[Corresponding abilities have been rewarded by the Spirit of Temptation]

[Updating user profile...]

"Eh? Spirit of Temptation?" Williams blinked, his eyes narrowing at the notification as his thoughts began to race.

'Wasn't it the Spirit of Good Luck before? Did something happen?'

'Hmm... if something had happened to him, the system would have sent a notification about my Reality Master dying..'

His chest tightened briefly at the thought, but logic quickly swept away his concern.

'It's more likely that he evolved, or got stronger.'

Williams realized, his gaze sharpening as the pieces fell into place.

'That explains it. A change in title means an upgrade in power. I've seen this happen before with other Reality Masters... their titles evolve as they grow stronger.'

A grin spread across his face as a sense of relief and anticipation took hold.

'This is good news for me. The stronger my Reality Master becomes, the stronger I'll get as well. It's a win-win.'

Williams's eyes dropped to his profile as the system completed the update, his fingers twitching with excitement.

His power hungry side was showing too visibly once again.

[User Profile]

Name : Williams Meldrin

Occupation : Reality Walker

Reality Master : Spirit of Temptation (new!)

Rank : Devotee (new!)

[Abilities]

[Honorary Coin Luck Accumulation] (Memory Lower-Tier)

[Honorary Whisper Accumulation] (Memory - Lower Tier) (New!)

With every increase in his strength, he could enhance his Walkers' potential, granting them new abilities and allowing them to grow stronger alongside him.

This was the distinct advantage of being a Walker with a Reality Master still alive and thriving—one that Williams was well aware of.

'Despite Williams' mischievousness and his power-hungry tendencies, he's not stupid.'

Ivaim thought, his smile shifting into a grin.

'He knows that the stronger I get, the stronger he becomes too. To him, it's all about staying useful—proving that he's worth keeping around.'

Ivaim's eyes flickered as he leaned back, arms crossed casually.

'It doesn't bother him that I'm using him, because he knows it doesn't come at his expense. In fact, he's probably betting that I'll need him more as I grow stronger.'

He chuckled softly, shaking his head.

'That's probably why he's acting as my Messiah, so I can't get rid of him the moment I become well known enough... Clever bastard.'

He glanced again at the ability he'd just granted Williams, the grin returning to his face.

'He's definitely the most useful Walker I have right now. Promoting him was the logical choice.'

'Still, I'm going to make sure every skill I give him ties back to spreading my name. If he's playing Messiah, I'll make it a role worth his while—but on my terms.'

The thought amused him as he imagined Williams grumbling over the conditions.

The new [Whisper] ability was a perfect match for someone like Williams, who had already been parading around as his so-called Messiah.

'With this, convincing people to follow me will be far easier for him. It's subtle, effective, and aligns perfectly with his personality.'

'Eventually, I'll tweak his abilities so he can maintain my current believers instead of constantly needing to gather more. But for now, the priority is increasing my influence—and making sure he keeps working for it.'

Ivaim's gaze sharpened slightly as another thought crossed his mind.

'Should I give him another version of [Lucky Leap] as well? His survival is important...'

He drummed his fingers thoughtfully, weighing the decision.

'After all, I can't afford to lose my most efficient tool just yet.'

His smile returned, and Ivaim dismissed the panel with a wave of his hand.

'Keep going, Williams. Let's see how far your ambition takes you.'@@@@
