Chapter 22: A Night with You
Chapter 22: A Night with You
The next moment, a gasp escaped her lips as Mors, despite his weakened state, suddenly surged forward. What are you doing?
His movements were instinctive, almost primal. Before she could react, he had pinned her to the ground with startling strength. Where did this strength come from? He was weak before.
The first thing she noticed was his eyes. The usual icy blue had turned a vivid, almost glowing red. They bore into her with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine.
"Mors," Athena whispered, her voice trembling but steady, "can you hear me? It’s me, Athena."
His breathing was ragged, his grip firm but not painful. Yet, she could feel the heat radiating off him like an inferno. Is this similar to a drugged person? Why is he so hot?
It was as if he were caught in a battle against himself, teetering on the edge of control. "Mors, can you hear me?"
Athena’s mind raced. The bug had to be the cause of this transformation. But was it a venom, a toxin, or some alien disease? She needed answers and fast.
"Stay with me, Mors," she urged her voice a mixture of resolve and desperation. "I’ll solve this. I promise." Her hands moved carefully, reaching for her knife.
But before Athena could reach for her knife, her breath was stolen away, literally. Hot, feverish lips crashed against hers in a searing kiss. No way!
"Mors..." she tried to say, but her words were muffled.
His hands moved with a strength she hadn’t anticipated, capturing her wrists in a grip like iron. If you aren’t my husband and we’re not in the wild, I will end you...
His fevered strength made it impossible to break free. Athena twisted and fought against him, her movements fierce but futile.
She whimpered, her frustration mounting. In desperation, she bit down hard on his lower lip. She tasted blood and thought she might have finally made him stop.
But instead of retreating, Mors seemed to become even more emboldened, his kiss turning more fervent, his hold unyielding.
A sharp rip echoed through the cave as his other hand tore through the fabric of her shirt. Am I going to spend our first night of marriage like this? What if beasts attack?
The cool air brushed against her bare skin, a stark contrast to the heat radiating from him. Athena’s eyes widened, her heart racing, not just from fear, but from the shock of his touch.
Her body responded against her better judgment, heat pooling in her core. I just need to remember that we’re married...
She heard the sound of fabric tearing again, and the cool air on her skin told her she was now completely exposed. Vulnerable.
Athena’s mind screamed for her to snap out of it, to fight back, but the venom’s effects made her thoughts hazy.
The primal instincts triggered by the bite clashed with her rationality, creating an internal war she was quickly losing.
"Mors... please, be gentle..." she murmured, hoping her words would reach the man she knew, the man she trusted.
But his eyes, still glowing red, showed no recognition of her plea. He was lost to whatever primal force had taken over.
The night passed in a whirlwind of heat and passion, their emotions and desires tangled beyond control.
Whatever barriers had stood between them before crumbled, leaving nothing but raw, unfiltered intensity.
Under the pale glow of moonlight filtering into the cave, their union was both fierce and tender, driven by primal instincts and an unspoken bond that neither could deny.
Athena felt every moment deeply, her senses heightened to a level she had never experienced before.
The feverish heat of their bodies intertwined seemed to sear into her soul, marking the night as unforgettable.
Mors, though still under the influence of the venom, moved with a strange blend of urgency and care, his touch alternating between commanding and reverent.
By the time dawn began to streak the horizon with soft hues of pink and gold, the intensity of the night had finally ebbed.
Mors lay beside her, his breathing steady and his face calm, the glowing red of his eyes faded back to their natural piercing blue.
Athena, though physically drained, felt a strange mixture of emotions, confusion, relief, and an unexpected warmth blooming in her chest.
As sunlight spilled into the cave, she shifted carefully, pulling a blanket over them both. For now, she let the quiet peace of the moment settle around them.
