Chapter 42 Successful Trade

"I don't think that's a good idea, Mom. I mean, don't you have more people than here? Won't you need extra food?" Lucas asked, in truth, he didn't want any food because he wanted to hunt them on his own.

There was a sense of pleasure and pride in hunting on your own and eating it to your heart's content knowing that you hunted it.

-"Nonsense, accept the trade, or else I will tell your Dad that you are misbehaving again."-

"Heh... that would have worked before but now that you are god knows how far, am not afraid of Dad," Lucas said with smugness, John was sitting right at the side of Lucas and couldn't help but shook his head with a chuckle.

Lucas may have been a bit mature for his age but he was still a kid.

-"That may be the case but you wouldn't even listen to your mom? Have you become so distant, I thought this would happen later bu--"

"Alright Alright! Gods, stop with the drama." Lucas said and clicked on the blinking option on the floating texts in a rectangle.

A screen opened yet again where two small rectangles were present, in one to the right, there was an image of a big creature, just like his mother told, it looked like a cow yet the orange hair on it was long making him believe that it looked like a Yalk.

-"Now, for the trade to be complete, just put anything in your box, it can even be a stick. Just be quick."-

Lucas looked around and found a glimmerroot near him. It was the one allotted to him for the day.

Lucas picked it up and neared it toward the box to the left until the fruit warped from existence and appeared inside the box. Lucas couldn't help but be highly impressed by the scene.

"What?" Even John was a bit surprised after seeing the fruit get vanished out of existence when it was clearly in Lucas's hand a second ago.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

-"Son, is this edible? Are you eating things randomly in the forest?"-

Lucas had to explain to her about the skill he gained called 'Herbalism' that helped him find great things.

The big creature was about four meters in length and covered the whole burnt logs in the camp. The creature's face had so much fur that everyone could only see the outline of the face.

The neck that was long was tilted and the head was taking the support of the shelter's wall.

"L-Lucas, what is the meaning of this?" John couldn't help but stutter when he spoke. Even a guy as calm as he had to react like that.

The situation was too bizarre and everyone made a circle around the overly haired creature.

"Holy fuck! What and How?!" Even Sean who was showing his serious side since the night reacted with his original nature. John was too flabbergasted to even rebuke Sean for his cussing.

"I just made a trade deal with my Mom... Apparently, my dad hunted many of these and they had too much to store."

Everyone stared at Lucas with disbelief, they all were thinking of eating meat again one day when their wishes got accepted so easily.

"And if I read between the lines correctly, we can trade this thing by giving the glimmerroots officially later on."

There was one surprise after another that not a single one among all the people present knew how to react. They just stared dumbly at Lucas or the dead body.

5 minutes later,

There was still silence in the shelter's territory but Lucas didn't falter with his curiosity. He checked the whole body of the creature in depth and could see that it was too much like the cows he knew from his planet.

It made him wonder how he had found many creatures and not a single one was from outside the basic families of creatures he knew. Kobold obviously belonged to the reptilian types, the rapacious plant belonged to Aster, and the Vixenox was a mammal.

It made him feel like they were the basic types in every planet but his horizons were still too narrow so he didn't make his theory a fact.
