Chapter 521 Faulty Intel! Were We Played?

Chapter 521 Faulty Intel! Were We Played?

"I don't believe it! The power of a high-ranking divine authority is supposed to be invincible!"

Terran's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the sword light that seemed poised to annihilate everything in its path. Despite the formation harnessing the full power of over twenty gods and every artifact they had at their disposal, he still felt as insignificant as an ant before a colossal storm.

BOOM!!

The sword light crashed down onto the formation with an earth-shattering impact. To the Ashen gods, it felt as though a neutron star had detonated right before their eyes. Their vision went dark, their hearing deafened—it was a sensory overload of divine devastation.

Unlike the previous clash with the Pillar of Divine Light, which was a rushed activation, this strike was a full, perfect release of the Sword of Doomsday Judgment's power.

The formation cracked under the pressure, its surface covered in a web of fractures as if a meteor had slammed into it. The twenty-plus gods maintaining the formation groaned in unison, each suffering severe internal injuries. The artifacts and tools surrounding them shattered one by one, releasing bursts of energy in a desperate attempt to absorb the power of the divine sword.

Eterna stood dumbfounded at the sight. Unlike before, there were no residual shockwaves from the clash between sword and light. The Sword of Doomsday Judgment, this time directed entirely at the enemy, caused no harm to his side. This allowed the Orichalcum gods to stand by, watching Terran and his group struggle under the assault.

He hadn't expected the Ashen gods to be so reckless, daring to take on the full force of a power coalesced from the might of multiple high-ranking divine authorities.

This was Eterna's final trump card. He refrained from following up with additional attacks because the energy of the Sword of Doomsday Judgment would nullify any external forces. Intervening would only weaken the sword's destructive potential.

Crack, crack, crack...

The fractures on the formation continued to spread. At its center, Terran clenched his teeth, his entire will and spirit focused on maintaining control. He poured every ounce of energy into resisting the sword's unrelenting power.

Though his Divine Power drained rapidly, and every fiber of his being screamed in agony, he knew that if he faltered now, he would have to rely on the God Shield for survival. But if it came to that, he would have no way to defend against a second strike.

He had no choice—he had to endure, no matter the cost.

Fueled by sheer determination and the combined strength of the gods' defensive barrier, Terran and the others managed to withstand the peak of the sword's power. While the residual energy of the Sword of Doomsday Judgment continued to wear away at them, the damage was no longer as catastrophic.

When the power of the divine sword finally dissipated, what remained was a formation riddled with cracks, teetering on the brink of collapse.

Within the formation, Terran and the other gods finally exhaled in relief. Many of them were drenched in blood, their auras weak and flickering, but their faces betrayed an unmistakable expression of excitement.

They had survived. They had actually withstood it! Even the power of the Upper Realms wasn't enough to obliterate them completely!

Eterna and the gods of Orichalcum, however, felt a strange and inexplicable sensation. Could the gods of Ashen truly have something wrong with their minds?

While it was true that the Ashen forces hadn't suffered any casualties, not a single one of their gods remained unscathed. Every one of them bore injuries, making it difficult not to feel a sliver of relief on Orichalcum's side.

Though they were outnumbered by several gods, their overall condition was slightly better. One side was battered and broken, the other merely fatigued. The balance seemed to level out. Victory was still undecided.

"Come on, use your final sword!"

Terran, still maintaining the formation to guard against a potential sneak attack from Orichalcum's side, locked eyes with Eterna. His tone was laced with both disdain and anticipation.

"Don't attack!" Eterna shouted hastily.

His instincts screamed that something was wrong. The protective glow surrounding the Ashen gods seemed ominous, and he knew striking it would lead to disaster. But his warning came too late.

Terran paid no heed to Eterna's outburst. The twenty-six Ashen gods combined their might, focusing their power on the nearest Orichalcum god. The targeted god tried to escape, but the Ashen gods sealed the entire space. Even though many of them were injured, their combined strength was overwhelming.

In mere moments, the unfortunate Orichalcum god was obliterated, wiped out completely. Worse still, others who tried to assist were caught in the God Shield's reflective power. Their attacks were absorbed and rebounded, injuring their own forces instead.

With one target eliminated, Terran immediately turned his focus to the next, repeating the same strategy. One by one, the Orichalcum gods fell under the relentless assault, their attempts to fight back only serving to deepen their plight.

Under the protection of the God Shield, there was no need for defense. All they had to do was kill their enemies one by one. A single minute might mean little to mortals, but for gods, it was more than enough to slaughter every last one of the Orichalcum forces.

"Scatter and run! Don't engage them!"

Eterna quickly deduced the shield's effects and shouted a warning to his comrades. However, this immediately caught Terran's attention.

"Take that trash out first!"

Terran roared furiously. Eterna had repeatedly foiled his plans, and his hatred burned hot. Unless Eterna was dead, Terran would never feel satisfied. Without hesitation, all twenty-six Ashen gods turned their focus toward Eterna, intent on erasing him with a coordinated strike.

Eterna's heart skipped a beat. Acting swiftly, he activated his Law of Illusions, conjuring countless decoys. Simultaneously, he used the Law of Hunting to slip into the void, vanishing entirely from sight.

When the Ashen gods finally destroyed all the illusions, Terran realized, enraged, that Eterna had long since escaped. Snarling in frustration, he redirected his efforts toward the other fleeing Orichalcum gods. However, the brief delay caused by Eterna had given his comrades a chance to gain some distance.

"Damn it! Chase them down! Don't let a single one escape!"

Stay tuned to empire

Terran's fury surged like a tidal wave. What he had expected to be an easy, foolproof ambush had now cost him dearly. Fueled by rage, he ordered his invincible squad to split up and pursue the fleeing Orichalcum gods.

It wasn't long before several of the Orichalcum gods were caught. The Ashen gods unleashed relentless attacks, striking without hesitation or mercy. Due to the shield's reflective effects, Orichalcum's forces were trapped in a cruel dilemma—fighting back only harmed themselves, while doing nothing led to their inevitable deaths. Every passing second was sheer agony.

"No!!"

A god wielding dual divine authorities let out a roar of defiance. Desperation etched into his face, he gathered all of his Divine Power and launched a reckless attack.

Yet his Ashen pursuer simply smiled coldly, spreading his arms wide, making no attempt to defend himself.

The attack struck the Ashen god dead-on, but instead of causing any harm, it transformed into a radiant column of Divine Power, which turned and slammed back into the Orichalcum god with devastating force.

The result was carnage—utterly gruesome and heart-wrenching.
