Chapter 670 90
Chapter 670 90
The Demon Lord himself will not do anything, instead observing the battle, leaving the work to his subordinates. Aridus and Maroon were glad, as this is an opportunity to earn more of his favor.
And so, the two S-rank started the Final Battle of Zell City.

After a week of inaction, saved for some skirmish, the soldiers and militia find themselves bored of the inaction. A part of them glad to not fight enemy stronger than themselves, yet, it bore them that they have to essentially have a staring contest with the monsters.
"When do you think the Human Bugs will attack?" one of the soldiers asked his companion. The other man shrugged, not giving any verbal reply.
They sighed. The victory few days back rise the morale to a new time high, yet, it started to drop as the higher-ups did not do anything with their advantage.
The soldiers knew it was because they will be disadvantage, as their greatest advantage is number, and most of said numbers were militias, whose average strengths at lower-tier D-rank.
To attack a fortified location of enemies that is capable of fielding entire armies of C-rank is the height of folly, and would just lead to the destruction of Betrum Grand Army.
So, no plan of attack is concocted, with plans of defense being the one thought out. An understandable decision but somewhat depressing.
"Well, hopefully, it's anytime soon. I want to go back to my regular du-" the first man stopped, his hand on his war horn. Others followed suit, their eyes trained on the mass of creatures, marching towards Zell City.

"The battle finally commence." General of Betrum Grand Army said, as horns blared from the eastern wall. At last, the swarms launched a full-on assault.
Hopefully, they send the swarm in waves. However, even if that was not the case, the forces of Betrum Nation could still handled the swarm with some difficulty.
Not saying other words, the General walked to the wall, intent on observing the battlefield.
"What should we do now? Most of the info gathered the last few days will be useless, or not as effective as we hope." Another General asked, posting a sensible question.
"Unfortunately, the time for preparation is over. The monsters took us by surprise, which I believe to be intentional." Hearing the General of Betrum Grand Army said it make the other higher-ups realized the gave danger they will be in.
"You think the monsters planned thus?" Guild Leader Calle asked the older man.

"Yes. They send a weaker, less advanced swarm to attack the fortresses before sending them to die, making us believe the Human Bugs would be manageable for us to defeat.
Then, once their preparation finished, they will attack us with their full force, including some of the Bugs from the forest."
As much as any of the generals wished to prove the General of Betrum Grand Army wrong, they also share the same thought. If a couple of skirmish groups did not utilize weapon, it make sense.
Yet, even the large swarm of 10 000 Human Bugs did not utilize any weapon, instead using their claws and strength to slaughter their foes.
"It seem we have outplayed by the monsters." Calle spat out. All of them felt their intelligence had been insulted by the monsters, who come up with such strategies.
"No matter. We will fight to the last men. Send a messenger to order the civilians of the Nation take refuge in another nation. There is a chance Betrum Nation will fall today."
Wasn't it a somber thought. When they thought they could win, albeit with losing half of their fighting force, but now realizing it was a lie concocted by the monsters.
"Order the soldiers, mercenaries, and adventurers for a tough fight. The militia will focus on providing cover and attack the monsters from a distance."
With the orders given, the combatants ran around frantically, but this time with purpose.
