Chapter 1007 The Work Was Done by Her, But None Belongs to Her

It was all her hard work!

Hearing this, Qin Xu couldn't help but laugh and poke her forehead, "You wish!"

"All of these are to be confiscated," he added with a teasing tone.

"Alright," Zhouzhou said, staring at the two large boxes. She clutched her chest with an exaggerated look of sorrow, "If I had known, I wouldn't have brought Second Uncle along. I should've dug it myself!"@@@@

As she was thinking this, thunder suddenly crackled above her head.

Zhouzhou's face turned pale. She immediately wrapped her arms around her head, shaking like a rattling drum, "I don't want it, I don't want it, I'll give it all up! Don't strike me!"

The Heavenly Thunder glanced at her and then ceased the electric flashes.

Zhouzhou pouted, stomping her foot in frustration.

With Mr. Thunder around, it seemed she'd never be able to do anything bad again.

Hmph.

Seeing the little girl sulking, Qin Xu smiled, "Don't worry, I'll make sure you don't come back empty-handed. I'll apply for a double reward for you. How does that sound?"

"Yes!" Zhouzhou's face lit up immediately, and she nodded vigorously.

Qin Xu found her easy to please.

No matter how much money was involved, as long as there was money, she'd be happy to do it.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have followed Qin Er to the street market, where the pay was pitiful. She had never complained, working tirelessly as if money grew on trees.

Qin Xu couldn't help but chuckle, shaking his head.

This little money-grubber would never change.

Zhouzhou had come from hard times. She never minded if the money was small—even a single yuan mattered because it could buy a big steamed bun!

The little chubby girl was happily swinging her head.

After a moment, she said, "Second Uncle, can I call for some help?"

The town where Lei Dao lived wasn't particularly large, but not small either. If she searched on her own, it would take forever to find anything.

Qin Xu nodded, "Of course, my team is still over there. You can ask them for help."

Zhouzhou, however, shook her head. "They won't do."

With that, she dialed a phone number.

Upon hearing her conversation, Qin Xu suddenly understood and couldn't help but chuckle.

By the afternoon, a plane slowly descended outside the town.

When the cabin door opened, a large creature immediately leapt out and charged straight at Zhouzhou.

Zhouzhou let out a cry of surprise, and the next moment, she was knocked to the ground. She pressed her little hands against the large head, her face contorted with pain. "Wangcai, you're too fat! You're crushing me, I can't breathe!"

Zhouzhou pulled out her Compass and with a little wave of her chubby hand, she declared, "Let's go, start!"

No sooner had she finished speaking than Wangcai and Jinbao dashed off.

Wangcai sniffed the air and ran to a spot, immediately starting to dig with its claws.

Jinbao, on the other hand, leapt to another spot, but its strength wasn't as great as Wangcai's. After a lot of effort, it only managed to dig out a small puddle.

Seeing that Wangcai had already found a small box, Jinbao grew anxious. It glanced at Lan Tian, who was watching from behind, and tapped the ground with its paw.

Lan Tian raised an eyebrow, "Do you need a hand?"

Jinbao nodded.

Lan Tian was taken aback.

This cat could understand human language?

Zhouzhou's animal friends were quite something, all so smart.

And they were just like their little owner—money-grubbers!

Zhouzhou used her Compass with precision, finding everything with accuracy.

Other team members, whom Qin Xu had notified earlier, came over to assist.

From start to finish, not a single shovel of dirt was wasted. Every spot they dug had treasures underneath.

Although they didn't know much about antiques, just by looking at the quantity, they knew these would fetch a lot of money if sold.

Lei Dao, that scoundrel!

Zhouzhou rode Wangcai around the town, checking every inch of the place. She found another seven or eight treasure spots.

The team members drove over and hauled the items back, placing them in Lei Dao's yard.

When Qin Xu finally returned the next day, he saw all the items scattered on the ground. His face darkened considerably.

Behind him was an elderly man.

Zhouzhou couldn't help but stare at the man.

The elderly man walked up to one of the boxes, carefully inspecting it with a magnifying glass while wearing white gloves. His face was filled with excitement.

"This must be it, absolutely!"

He was visibly thrilled, his hands trembling slightly.

Seeing this, Zhouzhou couldn't help but observe him more closely.

Noticing her gaze, Qin Xu explained, "This is a professor from the History Department of A University. He happened to be here on a business trip, so I invited him to take a look at these antiques."

Zhouzhou nodded understandingly. But in her heart, she felt a pang of frustration.

She had dug all these treasures out, yet none of them were hers.

Why was her life so unfair?
