After Descending the Mountain, Seven Big Brothers Spoil Me

Chapter 1020 Disguise

Chapter 1020 Disguise

Very soon, Zhouzhou finished her class. During the break, she came out to enjoy her afternoon tea and noticed her smartwatch lying on the coffee table. She ran over, put it on, and mumbled, "How could I forget this?"

She didn't dwell on it and instead climbed onto a chair near the fridge, grabbed a few apples, and started munching away. She seemed entirely unconcerned about the smartwatch.

Lei Chong, observing this, finally let out a sigh of relief. He stared at Zhouzhou, letting out a cold snort in his heart.

When his uncle arrived, he'd see how he would deal with her!

The murderous intent emanating from him was barely concealed, but Zhouzhou merely rolled her eyes at him. "Idiot," she thought.

After wandering around the living room for a bit, Zhouzhou returned to the study. Her break wasn't over yet, but she ran over to Qin Ren, handed him her smartwatch, and whispered something into his ear.

Qin Ren nodded slightly, typed on his keyboard for a moment, and soon retrieved the deleted call logs from Zhouzhou's smartwatch. He also recovered the recording from earlier.

Zhouzhou put on her headphones, listened carefully, and confirmed that the bait had been taken. She couldn't help but cover her mouth and laugh. Then, she forwarded the phone number and call log to Qin Xu.

It didn't take long for Qin Xu to reply with a simple "OK."

Zhouzhou wore her smartwatch again, proudly swaying her little head.

Ha! That fool—how could he possibly outsmart her, the clever one?

Qin Ren watched Zhouzhou and couldn't help but chuckle. His little cousin was just too adorable.

Lei Chong, however, was still blissfully unaware that his every move had been guided by Zhouzhou's schemes. He also didn't know that his uncle's phone had been tapped. Instead, he was indulging in a dream of vengeance—plotting how he would get back at Zhouzhou for today.

Even though he'd nearly been knocked out earlier, he couldn't stop thinking about it.

Zhouzhou ignored him and focused on her practice problems.

Qin Dafu had shown her the competition schedule. The school and city-level contests were both coming up next week.

The competition was divided into elementary, middle, high school, and university categories. There were no restrictions preventing first-grade students from participating, but most didn't sign up since their knowledge was limited. Even if they did, they usually couldn't pass.

However, if Zhouzhou advanced, she'd end up competing against Qin Er.

Thinking about Qin Er's collection of trophies and certificates made Zhouzhou feel a lot of pressure. She even stayed up at night, hiding under her blanket with a flashlight to do more problems.

One night, Qin Lie returned home late from work and noticed light coming from Zhouzhou's window. He discovered her secret and confiscated all her books, paper, and pens, forbidding her from studying any further.

"What if you damage your eyes?" he scolded.

The "grandpa" nodded, handed her a balloon, and Zhouzhou beamed up at him. "Thank you, Grandpa!"

She turned around, pulling Lei Chong along and hopping back into the car.

The "grandpa" glanced in their direction for a moment before looking away.

Lei Chong sat with his head hanging, too dispirited to speak. Zhouzhou, meanwhile, busily tapped away on her smartwatch, pretending to be messaging her grandma about dinner.

"I want sweet and sour fish, braised pork ribs, and..."

But the message she actually sent was to Qin Xu:

[Second Uncle, the balloon seller is the bad kid's uncle.]

[He's emanating a strong aura of killing intent.]

Qin Xu didn't doubt Zhouzhou's judgment—her abilities were well-established. He immediately sent a message to his team to keep a close eye on the balloon seller.

Another message from Zhouzhou followed shortly:

[Second Uncle, you need to catch him quickly. There's a hidden murderous aura on his face, so he's likely to claim another life soon. Also, there's a knife hidden in his left sleeve. Be careful.]

It was true—he was left-handed.

Qin Xu nodded, his expression serious as he began to set up his plan. Quietly, he moved to a spot not too far from the target.

Inside the car, Zhouzhou glanced outside, feeling a bit nervous. She wasn't sure if Second Uncle would succeed.

But she couldn't get out of the car now—if Lei Chong yelled and alerted the villain, things would get messy with so many people around.

From the rearview mirror, Qin Lie glanced at Zhouzhou, seeming to piece together what was happening. He rolled up the car window without saying a word.

Zhouzhou leaned back in her seat, feigning relaxation, but in truth, her mind was on high alert.

Suddenly, from the corner of her eye, she caught sight of a familiar figure. Her heart skipped a beat.

Why hasn't Sixth Brother gotten in the car yet? He's still standing near that villain!

Her heart clenched. She suddenly shouted, "Dad, stop the car!"

Hearing her voice, Lei Kun's head turned slightly in their direction. His left hand moved subtly, and a glint of cold steel flashed from his sleeve...
