Chapter 16 Water Drill?
Chapter 16 Water Drill?
"A Beach Stone Crab..." Lillian muttered under her breath, resting the side of her blade against her shoulder. She then tilted her head side to side, checking it out.
The crab's eyes followed her, as well as tilting. It was almost adorable in a way if it wasn't for the disgusting foam exiting its mouth and the way it threatened her with snaps of its claws.
"An E-rank monster. But due to the circumstances, they're about D-rank. Now then, what do I remember about it? They have shells as tough as stone, getting their name, pretty slow, and like most crabs, their underside is their weakness."
She listed off the things about the enemy before her with her fingers. Lillian then smirked before shrugging.
"Even if past Lillian had never faced a monster of this rank or higher and had barely won against an E-rank, I'm sure I can at least take it out without any trouble."
She raised her free hand and pointed it at the crab that continued to stare curiously at her. Its claws lowered slightly.
"Past Lillian could barely form a viable blast of water. How about now, I wonder?" Saying that mana thrummed through her body and began to exit and form a sphere of water in front of her hand.
From a golf ball to a tennis ball, all the way to a basketball, it was then launched forth, colliding with the crab's stony body.
BAM!
Its large, rigid body shook slightly, shrugging off the blast.
However, that didn't deter Lillian at all. In fact, she was quite ecstatic. She felt excitement course through her as she had done something countless people in her world would perhaps kill for.
Using magic. Actual magic.
Her body trembled a bit from how happy she felt. It seemed a bit of the past Lillian's lingering presence still remained, even though she was happy with what she had done.
"Although, that didn't do much. What did I expect of something that deals with something like this on a daily basis?"
It's like giving someone the keys to a car. They may know what all the parts of it may do, move it around, and such, but if you haven't taught them to drive, how can they use it?
"And~ that's why..." She stabbed her sword into the sand and held out her palms parallel to each other. In between them, an orb of water manifested before shifting around and spinning, becoming a large version of the drill of water she had created just seconds ago.
"Having knowledge about this sort of stuff is quite important. Even though I don't really know how this works, just the idea and how it's meant to look is enough."
Her eyes lit up at the speed it was turning. Although it was using quite a bit of mana to turn, she couldn't help but use a percentage of it to overpower such an enemy.
Lillian watched as the crab's body swayed around before hurriedly scurrying off towards the sea. She turned her body around, tensed her body, and launched the drill.
The drill collided with the tough shell of the crab; the momentum from its dash towards the sea, as well as the force behind the drill, had caused it to overturn, leaving its vulnerable underside exposed.
"Like most crabs..."
The crab felt something step onto its underside. Using its last remaining eye, it stared up at the human that pointed its blade at it. A victorious grin painted their face.
This was, after all...
["Contestant Lillian Ker Arius has slain a monster, now displaying contestant on the leaderboard."]
One of her many victories ahead in this life...
Lillian breathed a sigh as she felt the crab dissipate into blue pixels that soon disappeared as well.
"Incredible... to think the pill would have this much of an effect..."
If she hadn't bought that pill, she doubted she would've pulled off that kind of attack without straining her body.
"I'm gonna need to buy more... wait... I won't overdose on them, right?"
