Chapter 1334 Rightful Ruler
Chapter 1334 Rightful Ruler
Surviving the relentless lightning assault from Dravitar was not an easy task.
It was a challenging task even for Rex.
Rex limped his way through a vast open space, taking brief pauses along the way in pain.
He grunted painfully and looked down at his right arm underneath his cloak.
It was burnt to crisps, struggling to regenerate even after hours had passed since the attack from Dravitar. Only by circulating his new honey-kingly energy, could his arm begin to heal—and even then, the process was slow.
On top of that, his right arm was also paralyzed from residue of lightning currents.
As his Primordial Step's mastery increased, he was able to dodge Dravitar's ruthless attack.
But the lighting strikes were endless, they kept coming back to haunt him.
Other than the initial attack—when the lightning strike—was at its thickest, the Honey Moon Pendant was able to block the branching lightning strikes. Even though they were relentless the power output was not as strong as the initial lightning strike.
Due to that, the Royal Black Cloak's boost from the Honey King Mark was working again.
Rex could capitalize on that but that didn't last long.
Regardless of how much of an expert he is—the lightning strikes are unending, and one way or another—he is bound to make a mistake eventually. Because of that, he was struck in the arm but was able to escape.
It was through the Silverstar Genesis skill that he obtained.
As the description stated, it was a personal realm of his that was still completely empty.
But he could still escape there and waited until Dravitar had had enough.
System... I'm a Lightning Elementalist, how can this happen to me?
Pierced? How strong is his element rank if my mid-ultimate rank lightning was overpowered?
Just that? Not the fact that it has a stronger lightning element mutation than me?
Rex continued on ahead, picking up his pace but still needed to stop once in a while.
His destination was not back home but the Scarlet Banes Kingdom.
Knowing the condition of his empire, along with what had happened in the city, he now knew that he needed more numbers now—more than ever. Dargena City itself has merely a couple of thousands of people living inside of it.
It was probably why most of the city was deserted from the lack of people.
"Naela did tell me that many wanted to move to Dargena City but I don't know..."
Having been seen as a hero by the kingdoms under his reign, a lot of people wanted to move into Dargena City—especially with the establishment of the force academy. As far as the city was standing, it has been going smoothly.
Awakened and the small number of Supernaturals living in the city were living in harmony.
Not a single trace of hatred of the war rubbed into their daily activities.
But then again, Rex didn't know if he was ready for that kind of move.
In his point of view, this would be another huge step after the establishment of the empire.
He didn't know if he or the people were ready yet.
Because of that, he hadn't given an answer to that suggestion, he was still hesitant.
Despite his indecision, there was one way that could help him.
Or rather, one person who could help him clear his mind regarding this.
"A peaceful world, huh...?" Rex uttered lightly. "Even thinking about it gave me goosebumps"
...
"I am very grateful for you all answering my call at very short notice and please—do not hold back and enjoy yourselves with my hospitality. All of the menu is fresh and for those who are inclined to hunt food yourselves, meet with my counselor and you will be addressed"
Prince Alaric raised his glass, showing his respect to those present.
He was seated cross-legged on a slightly elevated platform, inches above the ground.
Before him were hundreds of Werewolves clad in stark and gleaming armor.
Each was sitting cross-legged behind a short table with all kinds of dishes served on it.
"What makes you think so?"
"A rumor is spreading around, about us falling to the Royal Black Prince's reign"
Nodding his head, Prince Alaric also placed his glass on the table.
"And what if it is not a regular call?" He asked.
Exchanging a peculiar look among each other, Mavok nodded and voiced out his concerns.
"We and a handful of others didn't oppose the idea but we need to be sure,"
"Sure? Sure about the Royal Black Prince?"
"Not only him but also you, your Highness. We want to be sure that we could trust you, that you wouldn't sell us to him for something else and make us believe—that you would always keep our best interest in mind, even if it meant going against him"
Prince Alaric nodded in understanding, he was already prepared for this question.
He had been contemplating deeply in solitude.
In order to convince others, he would first need to convince himself that this was right.
"I have always been loyal to the Origin and my kingdom," Prince Alaric said with conviction. "I have never betrayed the kingdom, not even once. Due to my appearance, Demon-like—I was under constant pressure from the other royals, yet I never once wavered. Not even when the Ancient Humans themselves came to blackmail me"
"So believe me when I say this. I've always and will ever be loyal to our kind" He added.
Upon hearing this, Mavok and the two Alpha Primes nodded.
Werewolves revel in their senses and right now, their senses reacted positively to this.
Oftentimes, words could be a magical tool to tell the person.
Just as he said that, however, a Werewolf came and whispered something to Torvin.
In exchange, Torvin quickly went over to Prince Alaric and whispered something to him.
Mavok and the two Alpha Primes watch attentively, as Prince Alaric's face slowly turns into a surprise. But that surprise didn't last long as he looked back at them, "As for the other prince outside of our kingdom, I guess you'll have to see him yourself. Come..."
Suddenly, Prince Alaric stood up and left the premises without waiting for the three of them.
It stunned the three before eventually, they quickly chased after him.
Moments later.
Prince Alaric and the other three Alpha Primes sneaked out of the meeting and headed south—the betas of Prince Alaric's pack were guarding the way—making sure that no witnesses to see where they were going.
Riding a mutated wolf each, the four made their way south, crossing through miles.
Other than Prince Alaric, none of them knew where they were going.
Prince Alaric received the news that a figure was spotted walking towards the capital city.
A Werewolf with crimson lines marring across its body, robust and mighty horns that curved back, and not hunched—upright like a fearsome arrow, walking with steady steps. Based on the description alone, the identity of the Werewolf was obvious.
Nobody in the Scarlet Banes Kingdom has horns other than Prince Alaric.
Since it was not Prince Alaric, it could only be Royal Black Prince.
Reaching the middle of nowhere, Prince Alaric stopped the mutated wolf and gazed ahead.
In the distance, he saw a silhouette.
Despite not showing any sign of aura, the sight of this silhouette screamed power.
So bad that their senses warned them of danger even though there was no aura to sense.
"We are going to meet with the Royal Black Prince..."
"What?! He's here?! How did he manage to get this far without alerting us?"
Upon hearing this, Prince Alaric shook his head and got down from his mount.
Feeling extremely nervous, the three Alpha Primes hesitated but still stepped down too.
"If you're asking whether to trust him or not—then the answer should be yes, because of one simple fact," Prince Alaric said, keeping his eyes fixed on the approaching silhouette, covered in the swaying dust and heat of the sun.
Turning to look at the other Alpha Primes, he continued.
"Our kingdom has never been the same as the other kingdoms," He said meaningfully. "All of you know as much as I do but the Origin once said,
only the strongest Werewolf could stand at the seat of power.
And as far as I know, the Royal Black Prince—he is the rightful ruler..."
