Chapter 1365 Entrancement State

Chapter 1365 Entrancement State

Linthia had completely forgotten about that.

She forgot that Nadia was scheduled to visit the Elven Kingdom tonight.

Ever since the horde of mutated animals that attacked Dargena City when she was given the power to lead the defense of one side—Nadia was faced with reality. Compared to her home city, Dargena City is in a completely different realm.

It has stronger forces to lead, stronger enemies, and more complicated problems.

As a result, most of the work was handled by the governor.

And when the mutated animal horde attacked, her chance to shine came.

Out of the capable people residing within the city, Nadia was the fourth choice.

Giana was unavailable to lead, Prof. K was in the middle of a breakthrough with his research, and Liliya was knocked out cold. Because of that—Nadia was chosen, it was her opportunity to show her capabilities.

In her mind, this was the world giving her a chance.

But she failed miserably.

Her side didn't fall thanks to Ugrok and Delta who came to help immediately.

Had the two not come, the mutated animals might climbed the walls and got inside.

Not only was she inexperienced but she was also too weak to help.

Rex had promised her a spirit to assimilate but she understood that he was busy and due to that, she decided to find a spirit herself. She wanted to get stronger and contribute more to her new home, which was why she came to the Elven Kingdom.

She heard that the Elves might be able to help her.

Linthia knew all of this from Nadia herself.

Not too long ago, Nadia was practically begging her to go to the Elven Kingdom.

And under Nadia's persuasion, Linthia agreed, she was swayed by her emotions.

But Linthia forgot about that.

Linthia's heart pounded inside her chest, as she fixed on the soaring death mana, moving like a shadow—about a quarter of a mile ahead, piercing through the forest. She was stationed in this village because the last minion was seen nearby.

If the minion showed its presence again, she and Dindora could intercept it.

Her task here was to stop it from reaching the capital city.

Knowing that the minion was intelligent and able to harbor hatred, there was no saying that it wouldn't attack the capital city while its defenses were down. Queen Shanaela and a massive chunk of the Elven's forces were out, creating a two-mile radius around Shadow.

So the capital city is vulnerable and the gate was closed shut for the night.

Linthia didn't expect Nadia to somehow be able to slip out and go to the Lightdune Village.

"She shouldn't be outside! How can she be outside?!"

Panicking, Linthia quickly leaped down from the tree she was on.

She landed roughly, startling the Elves around the tree who were looking at the horizon due to Shadow's loud roar but she didn't care and sprinted ahead. Pushing the Elves in her way, she called her assigned mount, a mutated black panther, and quickly rode it.

Under the onlookers' gazes, she galloped into the woods as fast as she could.

A couple of Elves called out to her but she kept going.

In a quick burst, her yellowish energy expanded from her body as she prepared to clash.

Linthia glanced in the direction where the minion's aura was coming from.

'No, no, no!' She exclaimed inside her head. 'I should make it! I have to make it!'

The Lightdune Village was a couple of miles east of the capital city, the minion was last seen around this village. And now, the minion appeared on the east side of the village—not too far away and was heading towards the capital city.

Naturally, it would collide with Nadia's path.

She wanted to intercept the minion but the chances were very slim.

Unlike before, the minion's speed now was faster.

Shadow's roar from earlier seemed to incite something within the minion.

Something was definitely wrong, the withering process was visible to her eyes.

Almost as if something was sucking their life essences.

Not only her but the mutated horse also saw this change and it became more terrified.

No matter what the guard did it could not calm down and with another violent twist, both the guard and Nadia fell down to the ground as the mutated horse sprinted away, turning around to get away from this area as fast as possible.

"Arggh..." Nadia grunted, falling to her back.

Recovering quickly, she raised her head and paled when she noticed something.

From the woods in front of her, torrents of black energy were seeping out like a gush of wind, pressuring her to the ground. It felt like she was trapped in underwater currents, she couldn't move from her spot.

Looking downward, she found even the ground was turning black.

Noticing the same exact thing, the guard quickly fired an arrow attached to a rope—made of nature energy. He then turned to look at Nadia, and reached out his hand, "Grab my hand! I'll pull us out of here!"

Upon hearing this, Nadia nodded and tried to grab the guard's hand.

But she frowned when the guard's hand went further away.

Raising her gaze again, she found the guard's face was overwhelmed by shock.

He was looking straight at her behind with unbridled terror.

Seeing this, Nadia stiffly glanced over her shoulder before she sucked in a cold breath.

Grr...!

A heavy baritone growl permeated from the woods behind her as a pair of eyes locked onto her with killing intent. Nadia saw a shadowy figure, galloping towards her, and it took only a couple of seconds for it to reach her.

For a brief second, the figure's imposing appearance appeared—a black lioness.

Having the strength far beyond, Nadia was an ant in front of it.

A small swipe would've ended her right there.

Nadia was face-to-face with death but the angel of salvation saved her from death.

Swoosh!

Right before the minion could swat Nadia out of the way—Linthia scooted from the side and grabbed her by the waist. Her face was stern—almost like a robot but she was able to reach Nadia in time.

But the mutated panther was not as lucky, it was struck in Nadia's place.

Under the strength of the vicious claws, the mutated panther slammed to the ground hard.

Linthia and Nadia were thrown from its back but managed to land a couple of meters away.

Once both of them landed on the ground safely, Linthia blinked her eyes as she snapped out of her trance. She blinked a couple more times—before she turned to Nadia, "Are you okay?! Are you hurt anywhere?!"

"I'm fine, I'm fine... you came right in time" Nadia muttered and focused back ahead.

Naturally, the mutated panther was killed—half of its body was torn from that attack.

Seeing such a sight, Nadia felt a shiver run down her spine.

Had Linthia not come right on time, she would've been the one lying dead on the ground.

"Thank Mother Nature that you're okay..." Linthia rubbed her chest, she had exerted literally everything she had and fortunately—she came on time. It felt like the extensive training she did had been worth it from this alone. "we're in the clear now but you need to stay here—no fighting me. That thing is heading to the capital city and I need to handle it"

As she said that—Linthia turned to check the situation.

She was then stunned, her breath caught in her throat.

Instead of continuing ahead to reach the capital city, the minion stood motionless.

Its eyes were fixed on Linthia and it had been like this while the two talked.

Upon seeing this, Linthia sweated, 'Why is it still here? And why is it looking at me like that?'

Just then, the minion sniffed the air a couple of times and squinted its eyes.

'W- What...?' Linthia was taken aback as she pulled Nadia to her behind, she was puzzled.

She was puzzled, as to what kind of scent latched onto her that could possibly make the minion stop like this. Just then, however, her eyes widened, 'Did it smell Dindora on me?!'
