Chapter 674: Find Out Soon Enough
Chapter 674: Find Out Soon Enough
"Pocket Dimension is going to be critical in pulling this off. It’s basically like a safe house in a video game, no one can touch us when we’re in here. So, if things go wrong and we need to make a quick retreat, we’re set," I remarked, as I glanced around at the others.
"And what if the enemy tries following us in here?" Responded Leto with a frown.
"That won’t be a problem. Even if the portal is open, that doesn’t mean just anyone can enter. The entrance will repel anyone that I don’t want entering the Pocket Dimension," I informed him.
"Wow, this is a seriously useful Skill, I’m kinda jealous," Spoke up Alkimia with a wry smile.
"So, anyway, how do we get inside Sanctuary Eta?" Inquired Ciel curiously.
"I gave it some thought, and narrowed it down to one option. We go near one of the entrances and wait for it to open, which’ll happen if and when any Hunters head out on Quests. After that, I just need to use Spirit Fusion with Invidia, activate Stealth and sneak in. I’ll then try to locate the Angel and use Appraisal. Once I’ve done that, I’ll head back in here and regroup, we’ll plan our next course of action once we have an idea of what the Angel is capable of," I explained in response.
"That sounds like a decent plan, but you’ll be doing all the work. Won’t that put too much of a burden on you?" Chimed in mom.
"No, it’s better if I work alone. The more of us that go out there, the higher our chances of getting caught are. I’ve also got wigs and colored contacts in Treasury, so I can put on a disguise. Spirit Fusion doesn’t last long, and I can’t use Stealth without Invidia, so I can’t remain invisible indefinitely once I sneak in," I pointed out.
"So, once you use Appraisal, you’ll head right back in here, right?" Ciel asked me.
"Yeah, that’s right. We’ll go over the Angel’s stats and abilities, decide on how to best plan our approach and then once we’ve finalized our plans, we’ll make our move. And while I’m out there, I’ll keep the time dilation active," I replied, continuing as I glanced as Alkimia, "That’ll give you time to train and get as powerful as possible. Mom, Ciel, Cleo, help her train. And the same goes for you, Leto. Even if you can’t make much progress in terms of Power Level through training alone, sharpening your combat skills should prove to be useful."
"Tch...fine, I suppose it’d a waste to refuse training from the strongest in the world," He muttered in response.
"I’ll do whatever I can to help, you can count on me, Kai," Nodded mom with a smile.
"Same here, Rex and I are all in too," Grinned Ciel, thumping her chest with the back of her fist.
"Huh? You mean Rex Wards? Didn’t he, um, you know...die?" Responded Alkimia awkwardly.
"Yeah, but he came back as a Spirit in the other world we were summoned to, so he’s back," Replied Ciel cheerfully.
"You guys keep mentioning these Spirits and Spirit Fusion or whatever, we don’t know what the hell you’re talking about," Muttered Leto irritably.
"I’ll have the others explain it to you once I head out to try and sneak into Sanctuary Eta. The Gods did say that the Spirit Realm will get connected to Earth, after all, so it could be relevant at some point," I mused thoughtfully.
"When I was going through the social media posts and news articles from the last year, I came across something about Spirits. In this warped reality, after Jaden Xeno, Ariella Velle and the three Angels returned from that other world you mentioned, Jaden said something about Spirits in a press conference they attended," Recalled Alkimia.
"Y-Yeah, I saw that too. A-Ariella said she can’t s-summon Spirits or use S-Spirit Fusion, the Angels said the same th-thing," Added Cleo with a nod.
"Right, since her connection to me is now dormant, she can’t summon the Apostles, let alone fuse with them. Which means, besides us, Jaden’s the only one who can use Spirit Fusion," I remarked, as I leaned back in my seat and stared up at the ceiling.
"By the way, any ideas on how we’ll go about avoiding civilian casualties? We did come up with a couple of options earlier, but we should probably think up a few more, just to be safe," Suggested Ciel objectively.
"Yes, I agree. Hm...I know you said you can prevent anyone from entering the Pocket Dimension against your will, but what if we let the Angels in instead?" Mom proposed in response.
Hm...
"That’s not a bad idea, actually. I can create isolated spaces in Pocket Dimension, disconnected from the rest of the dimension. If the Angels turn out to be too strong to defeat, we could opt to seal them inside Pocket Dimension. Although, I don’t know if that’ll count as defeating them, at least as far as the Gods are concerned," I sighed wistfully.
"It’s too bad we have no idea what their abilities are. There’s no footage or record of their abilities. According to the current warped history, they’ve never participated in any tournaments or disclosed their abilities to the public, so there’s no way to find out what they’re capable of without using Appraisal," Remarked Ciel with a grimace.
"I just hope they aren’t as powerful as the Demon Lord," I responded warily, before adding as I glanced at mom, "The Demon Lord we fought in this world, not you."
"Yeah, you’re stronger than I am, so the Angels being on my level would be a welcome outcome, wouldn’t it?" She laughed light-heartedly.
Well, yeah, can’t deny that. But I seriously doubt that it’ll be that easy. The Gods surely know exactly what each of us are capable of, so the Angels they assigned to this trial are bound to be significantly stronger than we are. Well...I suppose we’ll find out soon enough.
