Chapter 159 The fear
Chapter 159 The fear
Lucas forcefully activated his perceptive eyes and looked at something truly sinister get out of Mike's mouth.
It was a dark silhouette of sorts and Lucas couldn't actually see its face or anything but he felt this very disturbing thing that made his heart skip a beat.
Cold sweat poured from Lucas's forehead and his eyes shuddered.
No matter how much he tried to muster his strength, the creature seemed to have a fear effect on him.
Yet on the other hand, the creature didn't have a clue that Lucas could actually see it as it casually moved forward and forward until it stopped and hovered over the land.
Its tattered hood that floated around moved slowly when the creature started to move its face to the back, and there, Lucas saw the actual being.
Its body was fully covered in a dark cloak while its face... the embodiment of evil. The eyes were nonexistent, with the eye sockets pitch dark in color making Lucas wonder what he was looking at. It had a mouth yet not at teh same time, there were no lips but the further Lucas looked, the further he could observe the details instinctively.
The creature had no lips yet the mouth region was somewhat sewn together as if it was not allowed to even open its mouth.
Lucas's eyes started bleeding again as they glowed in the dark. Sarah couldn't see anything, unlike Lucas. She was trying to see what was wrong with Mike when he fell on the ground with a bloodied mouth.
In all this mess, when she finally looked at Lucas because of habit, she could see that something was wrong. Lucas was very close to the dark and because of this, his face literally touched the dark.
But Sarah could look at what he was doing.
"L-Lucas..." She spoke when she saw that Lucas was out of the loom and was acting weird.
Lucas jerked when he heard his name called, his skill deactivated and he lost sight of the creature that had scarred him for the rest of his life.
Lucas when he lost track of the creature looked at teh back toward Sarah who in turn squeaked and placed her hands on her mouth as if seen something very scary.
"Your eyes!"
Lucas didn't know that he was actually bleeding again as the adrenaline after looking at such a creature was too much for him.
But it was not all, Lucas's complexion was pale, there were bags under his eyes and his eyes looked like it was shedding tears of blood as they streamed down his cheeks continuously.
"Lucas..." A whisper came from the dark.

He knew it came from the back and that he was dangerously close to the dark.
Lucas didn't dare look at the back but something was very wrong, he was staring at Sara who didn't have much of a reaction to the whisper like him, her face only told him that she was really worried about him.
Lucas's eyes were fixed on the darkness, his voice trembling. "Something... something is following us. It came very close to me... and licked my hand."
"!"
"!"
The words hung in the air like a heavy cloud, the weight of their meaning sinking in. Whatever Lucas had encountered seemed to have lingered, a presence that now lurked in the dark behind them.
"We need to get out of here," John's voice was determined, his eyes scanning the group as if assessing their readiness.
"But what about Mike?" Sandra's voice was anxious, her eyes on her unconscious friend.
"We can't stay here," John replied firmly. "Lucas, can you move?"
Lucas nodded weakly, his body still trembling from the encounter. With the support of his friends, he managed to get back on his feet, though his steps were shaky.
"Keep your eyes on the darkness," Sarah urged, her voice urgent.
As they began to move, the group maintained a tight formation, their eyes trained on the darkness from which Lucas was hearing things behind them. The sense of unease grew with every step, the feeling that they were being pursued becoming more obvious.
The tension was suffocating, the group's nerves on edge as they continued to move forward. The darkness seemed to stretch endlessly, the travel becoming a seemingly never-ending passage of fear.
"We can't keep going like this," Ella's voice was strained. "We need to find a way out."
Hearing Ella, the other couldn't help but curse inwardly, things were the worstest, and anything else, even fighting the big undead right now felt right.
"Lucas... will you leave me behind?" The whisper came from the dark again and for the first time, Lucas actually looked at the darkness after the whisper had come.
"... What?"
Lucas's face which was all pale became serious out of nowhere, before anyone could ask about it, he regained his balance and looked at the darkness with new light.
"What is there?"
"Don't you see?" Lucas asked with a frown, the change in mood had made the others confused. Lucas was just out of his mind and now he was acting all serious.
"NO, we don't see or hear anything."
Lucas kept looking at the dark, his eyes wide and serious at the same time.
"It's my sister."
